I was really looking forward to reading this book, but half-way through I couldn't take it anymore. The book covers endless anecdotes and facts which makes it exhausting. While the ideas and the content are important, I gave up midway.

This is a lovely book full of compassion and empirical facts about stress and the unique stressors that women are facing in life.
The authors who are also the narrators are doing a great job in adding more warmth to this book.
But to be honest, reaching the end of my 30s and after learning my share about stress, about how to deal with it, and just living through some stressful times, this book didn't have much to teach me.

I would recommend this book to younger women.

On the one hand, this is such an important topic and the interviews are genuine and honest and shed a lot of light about it in a way that helped me think about my own life.
On the other, none of them talk about a meaningful relationship and how burn out effects them. None of them mentions what it's like when you become a parent and even the bits of balance you managed to maintain fall apart. They don't talk about taking care of sick parents or family members... All they talk about is their work and how burnout effected work. So while it's trying to show how unbalanced our life became - this original is deeply out of balance and out of touch with the real pains of life.

Very simple idea, nothing too original, but author poured into it so much intelligence and sensitivity- it works!

It seems that that the methidnis worth a try. But the book is too long with too many details and repetitions. You expect a book that is about becoming more efficient to be more focused and easier to comprehend, well it isn't. The method is overwhelmingly detailed. And for a book that is aimed for busy people, this is too time consuming!!
A better narrator would have helped a lot.

I read "Less" and was eager to read another one of Sean Greer's books. But ironically, just like in the life of Mr. Less, there's nothing in this book that's worth the effort of finishing it. It feels like it is an assignment of an English class student in college, nothing more than a nice experiment with an idea. After 2.5 hours I couldn't take it anymore.
But if you haven't read Less - do so!

Beautiful story, great performance, such a deep dive into the Indian culture. Give yourself the time to listen to this production!

I read this book (twice) while preparing to move for a new apartment. So this came at a perfect timing for me and completely changed how I thought about what I want to keep and what to throw.
The book is full of practical advices and lovely insights on how to arrange your living environment.
But keep in mind that this book suggests a method that, at the first stage, requires a lot of time and energy. So only read this book if you have the time and energy for a serious life- changing project. The good news are that no money is needed!
After reading this book I went to visit IKEA and left without buying a single item. I think that tells it all! 😂
The narrator is lovely!!

This might get a little political, so I should start by writing that I'm not an American and I have no interest in the partisan politics of the USA!
I read the reviews of the book and was amazed by the differences between those who praised it and those who wrote that this is just a story of a woman who made mistakes and won't take responsibility for it. So I was curious.
Let me start by saying that this is a book you must read, if you have had the luck of never being poor! This is a deeply disturbing story about poverty, with some very optimistic points about the American welfare support system (surprise!!).
Whatever you think about the author's decisions or character is not the real story here! The real story is about a society where it's ok to let someone clean your toilets without knowing their name; where people can work full time and still be completely on the edge; where it's ok to pay someone minimum wage but not pay for their gas expenses or commute time on the job; it's about a society where the people who needs it the most don't have sick days paid.
I have been working with survivors of sexual abuse for years and I have learnt that people blame the victims because of two unconscious reasons: they are filled with fear that they might someday end up in their situation, or; they are filled with shame for their actions or for not doing enough to fight the reality under their nose.
So you have to read this book! And if you find yourself feeling judgmental of Stephanie, my suggestion is, ask yourself "what in this story scares me so much, that I must push it away with judgment?".

Telling the story of one of the best scientists in history and a woman who broke every ceiling, as a love story that ends when she agrees to marry a man... that's a strange and disappointing choice.
Still, the story is well told and the narrator is wonderful!
