Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

I will remember this remarkable story for a long time. Every detail was perfect and kept me looking forward to each chapter from beginning to end.
I have listened to two other books by Delia Owen's and love every one.

Everyone on the earth should read this book. Animals need more compassion from humans, as they are more highly evolved than we are.

Historia
All ancient and indigenous peoples insisted their knowledge of plant medicines came from the plants themselves and not through trial-and-error experimentation. Less well known is that many Western peoples made this same assertion. There are, in fact, two modes of cognition available to all human beings - the brain-based linear and the heart-based holistic. The heart-centered mode of perception can be exceptionally accurate and detailed....

Too many quotations!
Revisado: 11-14-19
There were many interesting thoughts in this book, but the whole book was almost all quote after quote from different authors, not the author of this book. It was hard to comprehend so many in a row. Perhaps this would be better if it were read instead of listened to. I didn't care for the reader either.

Historia
Nine out of ten Japanese claim some affiliation with Shinto, but in the West the religion remains the least studied of the major Asian spiritual traditions. It is so interlaced with Japanese cultural values and practices that scholarly studies usually focus on only one of its dimensions: Shinto as a "nature religion", an "imperial state religion", a "primal religion", or a "folk amalgam of practices and beliefs". Thomas Kasulis' fresh approach to Shinto explains with clarity and economy how these different aspects interrelate.
