Hold on or let go?
Revisado: 07-28-21
Our lives are full of our “stuff” and the way each of us relates to possessions is so individual. As a Marie Kondo superfan, I admit that I get more satisfaction than most from filling a garbage bag full to donate or a clean and tidy closet. Some of you know what I’m talking about. However, as I’ve helped my mother thin out her 92 years worth of accumulated possessions, I’ve learned plenty about what goes into saving everything. It’s not about usefulness, it’s usually about an emotional connection, perceived worth, or the value it might have to someone else. Even if the sorting must be done because there is no room to move, there will be tears.
I chose this story to help me see the hoarder’s side, and it helped a little, but not a lot. The subtext here is that we can’t just detach ourselves from everything. However, she felt better when she had less stuff, and she had some really great stuff! I might see holding on as better if nature didn’t rush in so fast to fill that vacuum it abhors. I enjoyed the discussion.

Great time travel adventure! Let’s have another, Mr. Jones!
Revisado: 07-28-21
Time travel is my favorite theme, and this one has some fresh elements. Love the “rules”, love the mode of travel! Joe uses hypnosis to trigger time travel, a process near and dear to my heart because it cured my lifelong sleepwalking habit. It seems so doable, I’m tempted to try it out myself! With dogged determination, Joe is trying to save his sister, and uses his newfound skill, in addition to long secret ability to connect with objects, travel back in time. On top of the usual tangle of trouble that ensues from messing with time, we also get some startling visuals that would make a great movie. Looking forward to the next one!

Time travel fun

Time travel is my favorite genre, and this one did not disappoint. Awesome performance kept this thriller moving! I guessed the end early on, but that didn’t keep me from enjoying the ride.

Historia
Mary is the second daughter of the Sherborn family. Gifted with clairvoyance, a strain that runs through her Celtic ancestors, Mary is born in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Massachusetts Bay Colony, founded by Puritans in 1630, tolerates no other faith or people. After the magistrates execute the first midwife for witchcraft, Mary dares not admit her visions to anyone, even to herself while she conforms to the Puritan faith. Marrying both wealth and power, she struggles to maintain the respect of her community while concealing her visions.

Not a professional recording
Revisado: 05-31-19
This author is reading her own work, and it sounds like recorded it in her own living room. It makes me appreciate the professionals, both the sound quality and the performance!
I returned it after a half hour or so, can’t speak to the story much, but I would have continued listening under better circumstances.
