Historia
When Bernie Sanders, an obscure Vermont senator, launched his quixotic 2016 presidential campaign, few could have seen just how radically the Democratic Party would transform in just a few short years—or that such a transformation could be led by a Bronx bartender volunteering for Bernie in her spare time. The world as it was when that campaign began is almost unrecognizable today, and the Squad has both shaped and been shaped by the seismic social, cultural, and political changes underway.

A Must for a Macro Investor
Revisado: 11-28-12
What did you love best about World Right Side Up: Investing Across Six Continents?
This isnt just about Investments. Its about history, culture, travel, politics and economic trends. This is a book I can see myself using as reference book. Alot of reading references, alot of cultural info. This is the kinda book you'd buy and feel that you didnt do justice to the author by paying him only the listed price of the book. I feel I owe him a lunch or a cup of coffee. Thank you Mr Mayers!
Also, Peter does an excellent job narrating the script. Kept the tone very interesting. An excellent Gem overall.

Historia
In the beginning was Josh Levine, an idealistic programming genius who dreamed of wresting control of the market from the big exchanges that, again and again, gave the giant institutions an advantage over the little guy. Levine created a computerized trading hub named "Island" where small traders swapped stocks, and over time his invention morphed into a global electronic stock market that sent trillions in capital through a vast jungle of fiber-optic cables.

Not an easy digest. A Must for Investors
Revisado: 09-20-12
Where does Dark Pools rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
A great listen. The characters in the story have some amazing stories. Interesting moto was that a problem was identified. Then that problem was resolved with a solution. A genuine solution. And then the genuine solution warped into a problem too. Just like the ultimate truth, there's no ultimate solution
Who was your favorite character and why?
Josh Ravine - hands down.

Historia
In her groundbreaking reporting, Naomi Klein introduced the term "disaster capitalism." Whether covering Baghdad after the U.S. occupation, Sri Lanka in the wake of the tsunami, or New Orleans post-Katrina, she witnessed something remarkably similar. People still reeling from catastrophe were being hit again, this time with economic "shock treatment," losing their land and homes to rapid-fire corporate makeovers. The Shock Doctrine retells the story of the most dominant ideology of our time, Milton Friedman's free market economic revolution.

Emotional - Yes! Factual - No!
Revisado: 07-09-12
Would you try another book from Naomi Klein and/or Jennifer Wiltsie?
No.. An absolutely no.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Matt Taibbi
Have you listened to any of Jennifer Wiltsie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Have no issues with the narrator. Its the half-baked facts I have a problem with
Any additional comments?
This is my 2nd review on Audible. I was forced to write both. The 1st one was about "The Asylum" because it was THAT good. And the 2nd review for the Shock Doctrine. The fictional facts and the half truth is shockingly bad.
Folks, any time you have emotions flying high, you will get distorted facts. This book's high on emotions. Dont let my review stop you from buying this book and experiencing what I am talking about 1st hand. The book is so bad that you actually have to listen to it 1st hand to believe it.

Historia
They were a band of outsiders unable to get jobs with New York's gilded financial establishment. They would go on to corner the world's multitrillion-dollar oil market, reaping unimaginable riches while bringing the economy to its knees. Meet the self-anointed kings of the New York Mercantile Exchange. In some ways, they are everything you would expect them to be: a secretive, members-only club of men and women who live lavish lifestyles; cavort with politicians, strippers, and celebrities; and blissfully jacked up oil prices to nearly $150 a barrel while profiting off the misery of the working class.

Shockingly Entertaining!
Revisado: 05-17-12
What made the experience of listening to The Asylum the most enjoyable?
I dont think I can possibly come across an audiobook this entertaining. Although the book itself is more of the history and the background of NYMEX and its people (which is shocking in itself).
This book is a MUST LISTEN! Excellent job by Robert Fass!
What does Robert Fass bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Those different accents. Robert really brings this amazing book to life!
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
"We have met the enemy and he is us"
