It's 1920, and Christmas is coming. Major Lennox finds a body on his doorstep - why on his doorstep? Was it to do with the Countess? Was it about the ruby necklace? Historia
Ninety-one-year-old Gretel Fernsby has lived in the same well-to-do mansion block in London for decades. She lives a quiet, comfortable life, despite her deeply disturbing, dark past. She doesn’t talk about her escape from Nazi Germany at age 12. She doesn’t talk about the grim post-war years in France with her mother. Most of all, she doesn’t talk about her father, who was the commandant of one of the Reich’s most notorious extermination camps. All The Broken Places moves between Gretel’s girlhood in Germany to present-day London as a woman haunted by the past.

The unique perspective of Grethel and her mother. I've never considered what the Hollocaust was like for Nazi families.

i thought the narration was excellent. The characters were complex and the story had great flow in spite of the split screen. great research.

An excellent courtroom novel.
Revisado: 07-30-22
its amazing how the author defines a male best friend dynamic which could never happen between females. He has a gift for describing the good guy against the bad guy and we are immediately pulled into the conflict with a need to see the good guy rewarded and the bad guy punished. I highly recommend this gripping narrative. it wont disapoint. excellent choice of narrator.

A passionate marine biologist happily married to Craig, the man she loves, she has recently moved into a home commensurate with their success to enjoy a life many others only dream about in one of Houston’s most desirable suburbs. Andrea’s life remains a mystery that investigators and public opinion equally fail to solve.
