Historia
Teri Miller has noticed that something seems to be worrying her international chess champion husband, Bobby Polgar. He told her he’s “protecting his queen,” and she has the oddest feeling that he isn’t talking about chess, but about her. Rachel Pendergast has two men seriously interested in her, and she’s going to have to make a choice. But Linnette McAfee recently left town because her love life fell apart. Still, Cedar Cove has a way of helping everybody out. That’s just how it is in this warmhearted small town.

not your typical Debbie Macomber book
Revisado: 01-11-25
I have read and loved a dozen of Debbie Macomber's books. This book felt like it wasn't written by her. So many characters and different plot lines. And the worst part, no real closure. I usually fall in love with her characters, but I don't feel like any character was fully developed. This book leaves a lot to be desired.

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

Insightful!
Revisado: 07-27-24
This book gave me a glimpse into a culture I didn't know a lot about. I enjoyed the firsthand account, as well as the brutal honesty. It's a great story of overcoming your upbringing and getting out of an abusive cycle.

Historia
The marshals are looking for the perfect girl to join a mother, father, and son on the run from the nation's most notorious criminals. After all, the bad guys are searching for a family with one kid, not two, and adding a streetwise girl who knows a little something about hiding things may be just what the marshals need. Nicki swears she can keep the Trevor family safe, but to do so she'll have to dodge hit men, cyberbullies, and the specter of standardized testing, all while maintaining her marshal-mandated B-minus average.

Fabulous book
Revisado: 09-25-18
The book is wonderful! Great story line and character development. The reading isn’t perfect-you can tell where they went in to do rereads- but it’s still good!
