All Americans need to hear this

Michael is a fantastic example of being human and making mistakes but owning them and dedicating himself not only to making up for his mistakes but to try and keep the country and possibly the world from making the same mistake. He is uniquely qualified to speak on the most pressing issues of our time and while he has a very specific stance on things it is from first hand experience and he is a truth teller. He also has brilliant guests that are experts that can speak to the issues at hand with competence in a way that is educational, entertaining and in plain English.. I have listened to every episode of Mea Culpa and read both of his books which I finished each in just a few days as I could not put them down. This podcast and political beat down are really essential for all Americans to have the facts regarding our future as a country.

I wish I could give it six stars!

I could have listened to 80 hours of this. I cried and I screamed with laughter. I experienced a host of emotions and was taken on fun, interesting, heartbreaking and all meaningful journeys. Not only is the content incredible but to have this read to you by such a spectacular performer elevates the experience even more. Having the author read, no, she performed the hell out of this audiobook. Thank you Ms. Lewis! LOVE!

Blew me away!

I have to admit that I was not familiar with Billy Porter until I saw him recently on Graham Norton. I have a lot of catching up to do. I found him to be clever and interesting on the show which got me interested in buying his book. I am so grateful for that. This book was so much more intense, heart wrenching, inspiring and Laugh out loud hilarious than I could have ever guessed. I was sad when the book ended today as I feel like I have just lost access and connection to a close friend. Billy is so generous with his honesty and his whole being. Sonia it here as a privileged gay white man who feels a debt owed to Billy for so many reasons. That list starts with giving so much by writing this book. Billy’s dedication to making the world a better place even against unbelievably difficult odds, has made me all too aware of my complacency and I miss the younger me that had the drive to speak up and stand up for myself and others. While our stories are quite different, I found Billy’s to be riveting. Do yourself a favor and walk the Odyssey with billy in this book. I am a fan of life now. And I have a feeling we have only just begun to see Mr Porter’s career to take off. I am excited to see where he rises to next.

I didn’t want it to end

I was struck early on by the way the author paints so beautifully with her words. I soon found myself engulfed in the stories of real struggle and success. Heartbreaking loss and an appreciation for everything, taking nothing for granted. I laughed plenty and cried just as much. I loved hearing about the author’s mother and her never ending fight to better the lives of her loved ones. This same drive put to the benefit of the people of Hawaii, the United States and the world by Senator Hirono. I felt I was loosing a friend when the hoof was finished. Senator Hirono is a Bad Ass! I have my dream dinner guest list and she is on it. I know it won’t ever happen but I am grateful beyond my ability to express here, for the work she does for all of us and for writing her story. It was a beautiful gift from someone who has given her whole life to make the world a better place for everyone. Listen to this book, please.
