Historia
Bestselling mystery writer Lucy Harper's talent for invention has given her fame, fortune, and an army of adoring readers. It has also saddled her with dependents, namely her fawning husband Dan. When Dan suddenly goes missing, his disappearance evokes dark memories that take Lucy back more than thirty years—to the day her brother vanished without a trace. That's when Lucy began conjuring stories. The police investigation revealed few confirmed details, so she created tales to fill in the gaps, to explain what happened that day her brother disappeared—and Lucy was the only witness.

This was just a really childish and plain stupid story. What a waste of my time.

Historia
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Historia
When you are codependent, you are unconscious. You do not know that emotional neglect has caused your brain to believe life is a threatening reality. Instead of believing you are worthy of love, you feel unworthy of love. You do not make choices because they might bring you joy. You play it small, try not to rock the boat, people-please, and focus on what you do not want to happen versus what you would like to happen.

Lisa A Romano Speaks To Me Profoundly
Revisado: 12-05-20
I was shocked by the low rating of this book. I've listened to 100's of audiobooks and this one stands out as one of the best I've ever "read".
I'm a 70 year old child of an alcoholic and I wish I had this book 50 years ago. My father died when I was 5 and my mother was an emotionally absent alcoholic. I have carried shame and feelings of worthlessness for my entire life and did not understood why.
Even though most of my time on this planet is past, I am determined (through God's mercy) to heal from these feelings.
Lisa A Romano has impacted my life in a wonderful way and I am very grateful to her. Thank you Ms. Romano.

I loved the unique story and the narrator, Steven Weber is phenomenal. Most of the books I listen to are to relax and escape. I don't drink or do much else, so this is my therapy.
So....what more can you ask for? This book has it all. Thank you Harlan Coben and Steven Weber.

Historia
An inspirational toolkit for solo living - full of sound, practical advice, warmth and humour. Whether you view living alone as the ultimate compromise or the ultimate luxury, it presents daily challenges, such as cooking for one, organising holidays, juggling finances and avoiding the siren call of wine, Ugg boots and Netflix. And there are the less tangible tests, like nailing the octopus of loneliness to the wall and holding your head high in a society where solo living is viewed (consciously or not) as the runner-up prize.

A Very Positive and Helpful Book for Living Alone
Revisado: 09-07-20
My spouse had a stroke and is now in a nursing home. It has been nearly 2 years now since that happened. I think I was sort of crazy for at least a year. It was so sudden and devastating for both of us. I found myself at 70 suddenly living all alone. Around the same time he had his stroke, I had to put down our beloved dog of 15 years and my brother with whom I was very close died of dementia.
In my trying to cope and adjust to my loss, I tried getting stoned, drinking and binge watching shows. None of these things have helped. I have slept way too much or barely slept at all. It's been very difficult.
I stumbled upon this audio book a couple of weeks ago and have listened to it twice already. (I never listened to books twice.) Jane Mathew is very open and honest about her struggles which obviously I could relate to and this was a comfort in itself. The most spectacular thing about this book, however, is that she has many great ideas on how to not only cope but to thrive.
I cannot recommend this book enough. Listen to it again and again and you will discover many ways to begin to enjoy living alone.
Thank you Jane for coming into my life.

Pleasant story and narrator
Revisado: 08-22-20
This was an ease to listen to. I love Julia Whelan as the narrator and I'm quite picky about narration. Overall, the story was not "deep" but I enjoyed the general storyline and dialogue. Even though a certain political issue was discussed, It was not too much for me. Even though I'm far from a thirty something, there were issues in this story I could really relate to: being ambitious and neglecting a personal life and spending time with friends.
Overall, the book was a most pleasant read.

Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

The Best Story and Narration Ever
Revisado: 02-05-20
I am retired and enjoy listening to an abundance of books on Audible. I must say there was not a moment I wasn't completely absorbed by this story.
If you were to try to describe the storyline, it would seem quite implausible but believe me, you will be mesmerized.
The narrator, George Guidall, is the most impressive reader I have yet to experience.
This is a masterpiece.
