Lack of substance and detail. The story just never blossomed. Good narration, just a poorly written story overall. Usually the reviews are accurate and I can rely on them but this time they were wrong.

Why in the name of God are you using the word "Assault Rifle" and "clip"? It makes you sound completely uneducated. Considering all the technical vernacular which we want people to learn, you choose a made up word used to incorrectly classify a semi automatic Armalite rifle. Clip? Seriously? Unless you're talking about an M1A1 30-06, its a damn magazine, Bro. Don't hurt the cause...

The vast majority of this book was interesting enlightening and even insightful. However, there were areas where it was a clear that a life experience fueled the author to abruptly change writing style and lose the objectivity required for this sort of guidance.

In the chapters focusing on manipulation and anger management there were many inconsistencies and even blatant contradictions. While I acknowledge that explaining manipulation and anger are immensely complicated and difficult, I believe the author allowed his personal experience to influence the choices of language used.

I think it is important that readers understand and acknowledge that when reading a book which purports to provide mastery over various psychological areas and when written by a single author, may have insufficient peer review and cooperative editing. It is important to discern the inherently personal nature and bias versus the objective observations of the psychology.

Definitely worth the read, but would have liked to see it co-authored in order to remove some of the more extreme and opinionated pages.
