Believe I've heard him before and he was okay, but this performance really turned me off. The gruff voice just becomes unnerving and I could no longer listen.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

hmmm, IDK. Probably not.

This was a daily deal and I couldn't get through it. That seldom happens to me. Can usually choke my way through, looking for morsels of insight, inspiration or entertainment. This book provided nothing for me, I couldn't get past the narration.

Where does Rest in Power rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Up there with "The Hate You Give", my favorites so far this year.

What did you like best about this story?

I didn't like anything about the story. It's the kind if book that MUST be read, its not to be enjoyed (not in that way, anyway). Wish I never had the opportunity to read the story of Trayvons murder. I cried through the first couple of hours, listening to the emotions of Trayvons' parents relive the discovery of the murder of their child. It's almost unfathomable. I'm a step parent of a young man I love so much that it literally, physically hurt to listen to this story.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

If I could replace "interesting" with "disturbing", it's that: if Zimmerman were a black man and Trayvon a white teenager, I have ZERO confidence the trial would have played out the way it did in this tragedy. As a caucasian, even though I had nothing to do with the race I was born into, I get that white privilege has played a role in my life- like it or not. And if that were my boy walking that complex that fateful night, he'd be alive to tell me that some creepy dude stalked him. My responsibility as a human being is to acknowledge this and instill something better in the next generation. "The Hate You Give" was my favorite young adult book. I'm getting the hard copy for my toe-headed child who sees the world, already, through a different set of lenses than Were given me. This will be on his summer reading list as well. I'm so sorry for the loss that inspired this book, i'd much rather think of him struggling in High School, being bugged by his parents and scared or excited for his future.... like most teens... anything but the fate handed him by a jack-ass wannabe who should have stayed in his damn car if he was so afraid!! I'm so mad at Zimmerman and so inspired by the courage of Trayvons family to stand up for the young lives of those that follow their son.

TRAYVON IS MY SON. RIP (power) young man and in the knowledge that because of the life that YOU led and lost, another young, black man can "maybe" walk the streets, with a bag a skittles and a can of tea, a little safer than he would have before your brave parents refused to let your death be in vain. Wake up people, SKIN IS NOT A SIN!!!!

Go Away, Bernadette: An obnoxious Whine fest

What would have made Where'd You Go, Bernadette better?

More story, less whining. WAY less whining!

Has Where'd You Go, Bernadette turned you off from other books in this genre?

Is Whining a genre?
Whine: 1). To produce a sustained, high-pitched, plaintive sound, as in pain, fear or COMPLAINT
2). To complain or protest in a childish .... It made me so cranky on several attempts, that I finally just had to accept my mental health was more important.

What aspect of Kathleen Wilhoite’s performance would you have changed?

This book is about a lot of whining. She knocked it out of the park. The only thing I'd have changed was buying it in the first place.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Where'd You Go, Bernadette?

Many of the lounge, drawn out whine-fests.

If you enjoy people constantly complaining, go for it.

This book is a classic and Claire Danes gives a great performance. The second listen was even more enjoyable than the first, picking up on little nuances, like what her name likely was. Wish this had a sequel

Fun. Entertaining. Does what an audible book should do

Got this book on the daily deal and it was totally worth it. Lots of negative reviews commented about how the author was plugging his TV show, I didn't get that impression. thought it was interesting that he explained the development of the television show, although I've never seen it, the character was interesting enough that I'll look for another book featuring her character.

Harlequin romance much?

I listened to the whole thing while flying recently. It was tough to get though because of its predictability. If you like romance, happy endings with zero surprises, this is an easy listen.

Should be required reading

This story had me from the very start and never let go. I LOL and cried out loud. The character development was on point and the timely political and cultural significance of Khalils' life and Stars' voice cannot be under stated. As an adult with a teenager, this genre is important to me, but this book is definitely NOT just teen genre! You will NOT be disappointed. I wish every parent and teen, especially the privileged, would read this book and open their heart and minds. Great, great story!!

Didn't want it to end. One of he best trilogy's in this genre. The last book was as good as the first.

This book was an awful experience. I tried hard to finish it, couldn't do it. It annoyed me so badly at times that I had to rip my headset out. I had high expectations and was disappointed on every level.
