Historia
The Carryx—part empire, part hive—has waged wars of conquest for centuries, destroying or enslaving species across the galaxy in its conflict with an ancient and deathless enemy. When they descend on the isolated world of Anjiin, the human population is abased, slaughtered, and put in chains. The best and brightest are abducted, taken to the Carryx world-palace to join prisoners from a thousand other species. Dafyd Alkhor, assistant to a prestigious scientist, is captured along with his team.

It’s all right

Had higher expectations because of The Expanse. Still is an entertaining book, fantasy sci fiction, definitely not a hard science fiction like the Expanse.

Historia
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

Enjoyed this book very much. Very interesting view of a dystopian society. Well described characters and plot makes the story immersive and unforgettable. Can’t wait to read what’s next.

Historia
Daniel Rice is a government science investigator whose specialty is solving seemingly intractable problems through scientific inquiry. But Daniel's intellectual strength is sorely tested by the bizarre realities he finds in the quantum world. Extra dimensions of space trap the unwary, probability replaces cause and effect, and time isn't what anyone imagined. The other side of the mirror is a place full of dangers, but it's also somewhere a dedicated scientist can uncover secrets that connect humans with something greater.

1 and 2 are good
Revisado: 05-11-24
First 2 books where great. Very good science explanation blended well with the fictional story.
Third good should come with a warning. The hood hardly had any science because it was focused on all this characters inappropriate sexual behavior. From sexual harassment to pedophilia the story progressively got worse. I was horrified, non of it had anything to do with science fiction to make a point clearly characters could have done something else. Might read book 4 not sure after this disastrous book 3.

Historia
The Covenant mission is the most ambitious endeavor in the history of Weyland-Yutani. A ship bound for Origae-6, carrying 2,000 colonists beyond the limits of known space, this is a make-or-break investment for the corporation - and for the future of all mankind. Yet there are those who would die to stop the mission. As the colony ship hovers in Earth orbit, several violent events reveal a deadly conspiracy to sabotage the launch.

Poor story line
Revisado: 04-23-24
I am a fan of the Alien films so I’ve decided to read all the books. This book was good, I enjoyed the narration and the way the story was written was good. The problem with this book is the actual plot. The religious group story line just not strong enough and doesn’t add up. Would have need much better to make a connection with the Prometheus lost mission. A received message, the mentioned of David and his relationship with Weyland or the intention of Weyland to find the engineers or just anything that would have linked this story to Prometheus. But they missed that opportunity.
Although well written and nicely narrated this story is pointless adds nothing to what we know of the Alien franchise.

Historia
For centuries, men and women have manned lighthouses to ensure the safe passage of ships. It is a lonely job and a thankless one for the most part. Until something goes wrong. Until a ship is in distress. In the twenty-third century, this job has moved into outer space. A network of beacons allows ships to travel across the Milky Way at many times the speed of light. These beacons are built to be robust. They never break down. They never fail. At least, they aren’t supposed to.

Great read for veterans and sci fi fans
Revisado: 04-11-24
Excellent portrayal of the emotional struggles faced by those who have served in combat. As a veteran myself this book me laugh and cry. Howey was able to put in words emotions and feelings we find hard to describe. I wish the show had used the story instead of making a loosely inspired tale.
