Good Author, Great Narrator, & Interesting Story
Revisado: 01-15-25
In the beginning I wasn’t sure if the topic of this story would hold my interest throughout, the author did an amazing job of keeping everything interesting. There was a point where I felt like I could predict exactly how the conflict between the two women was going to play out, however the author managed to give it a bit of a twist and did manage to surprise me. I like this author and really really enjoy Abby Craden as the narrator. I will definitely be listening to more books from this author.

Not as good as the 1st book
Revisado: 08-31-23
I enjoyed the 1st book more even with the holes in the cop logic and it was worth the credit to listen, this 2nd book however had even more holes and they were harder to ignore. There were holes in the romance and cop logic in this one for me and so it was a lot less enjoyable.
The way London was putting so much pressure on Sylver to forgive her grandmother in my opinion was unfair. Londons excuse for keeping her ex a secret didn’t make sense, honestly I’m not sure why that guy had to be her ex in the story it didn’t even really provide much to the story except make Londons and Sylvers relationship more unstable. Sylvers temper tantrum over the secret ex I think was a tad bit overdramatic for her character. There were multiple times where they told each other that they fully trusted the other but then their actions later didn’t really portray that fact.
The cop logic had soooo many holes. I enjoy these cop themed stories because it’s like a puzzle I try to figure out in my own head along with the story. The way the cops went about this one didn’t really have a lot of logical sense beyond it so it wasn’t really easy to follow along with it. Like when they first get the info on the case at the beginning and they are all brainstorming from only files of the victims they concluded that the killer is handsome but has a disfigured or ugly small penis. In both books in this series the cops have a habit of pulling an idea or theory from thin air and just running with it. I think the author maybe tried to get past that with giving Sylver her new ability of just knowing random things but 1 that ability is kind of lame and 2 other cops were also doing it so even with the excuse through Sylver it still doesn’t fully work.
The narrator was ok but read every single sentence and word as if it was a thrilling action scene and it got really annoying since she continued to do it throughout both books.
In conclusion, the 1st book was better and worth the listen but the 2nd book for me wasn’t worth it. If you like this theme, a better series Call of The Dead by Ali Vali would be my recommendation instead of listening to the 2nd book in this one. There aren’t any special abilities but the narrator is better and the cop logic makes sense throughout and Seven has a similar attitude as Sylver.

I enjoyed it but…
Revisado: 08-31-23
I just listened to both books in the series. This 1st book was definitely better. The reason I like the lesbian romance cop is because I get to listen to a beautiful romance and get to use my own logic along with the story to try and figure out who the killer is/how to stop them. This book did still keep me entertained throughout however there were a few holes in the cop logic/thinking process. Like yes there is some give with Sylver having her abilities but the rest of the cop logic should have still made some logical sense as to how they got there. For example there’s a part where without help from a spirit London and Sylver are brainstorming about the killers reason for the killing, they come up with 1 reasons out of thin air and just run with it all the way throughout. I did enjoy how involved Mug, the dog was in the story. Also when they finally are in the middle of getting the killer, Sylver is in danger there alone and when the rest of the cops arrived as back up London was told to stay out of it and she listens, so she literally just stayed outside while all the other cops were in all the action. This book in the series was entertaining enough that even with these holes it was worth the listen. Can’t say the same thing for the 2nd book, I’m leaving a review there next. The narrator was ok but she kind of read every since sentence in the book like it was a thrilling action scene and it was a little bit annoying especially in the emotional parts.

One of my top favorites!!
Revisado: 06-01-23
I have listened to this book probably about 20ish times by now. I used to not like books, then I decided to give listening to them instead a try and now 200+ books later I’m still listening. Written in the Stars is definitely in my top 5 most favorites. I really like the comedy and the lessons learned in this book. The drama wasn’t overly dramatic and the cilantro has to be one of the cutest parts. I love it when books get that little bit of detail that is so small but has so much meaning behind it. Like yes it’s just cilantro but it shows that she was listening and paying attention which is what means a lot. The others in this series aren’t as good as this one but they are still worth giving a listen to.

Very enjoyable
Revisado: 05-01-23
I enjoyed the book and narration as a whole. It was fun to see the very possible scenarios play out. All the characters were well put together. Although I will say if I was with this group of people I would have snapped at Jackie a couple times since she complains the most and is the least helpful person in the whole group. Even still her character in the book is still enjoyable as it keeps me engaged. Book 2 in the series is good too.

I really enjoyed this story, if listened to books with similar a plot but this one is actually done very well. I enjoyed all of the characters which were well put together and I cared about the outcome of most of them by the end. The story was SUPER hot and sweet at the same time.

I enjoyed it
Revisado: 08-15-22
I really liked this book. I think I like it even more than the first one in the series. I enjoyed seeing Jackie finally be more useful for the group. WARNING SMALL SPOILER: I will say this book would have been a 5 star if it hadn’t left out one of my most favorite parts in a romance story between Sam and Laura. I really enjoy the anticipation of that first kiss between a couple and the author just brushed past it for these two. I actually had to rewind it back to previous chapters to check and make sure I didn’t get distracted and not pay attention to that part or something but no their first kiss just isn’t there. The kiss is described to you later as a kind of flash back daydream by one of them but it just wasn’t the same as being able to be in the moment with the characters as it happens for the first time. Other than this part though I did really enjoy the book. It’s gotten me to start thinking about what I would do in a scenario like these women are in.

Loved it!!
Revisado: 11-30-21
I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to follow along even with all the different creatures and the shape shifter world politics weren't complicated to listen to and understand. In my opinion the best part of this book is the way we get to know Aurora's character throughout the whole book. Yes we hear parts of the story from Aurora's point of view but seeing her through the eyes of Eve and hearing everything she went through as a kid through Eve's ears really paints the picture of how sweet of a person Aurora really is. And of course having Abby Craden as the narrator for this story was fantastic, she truly is one of my 2 favorite narrators on this app, the other being Lori Prince. Anyone who is an Abby Craden fan will definitely appreciate Lori Prince as well. Anyways back to this book, it is definitely worth your credit. I've lost track of how many times I have registered to this title and the story doesn't get boring in the register either since there is so much going one throughout. It's just fun getting to reexperience all of it all over again.

So cute and really great series
Revisado: 09-23-21
I really liked all the characters, I fell in love with Kristine & Hannah’s beautiful love story throughout the whole series. Although I wished there was a bit more focused on them after the 2nd book. It felt like the epilogue at the end of that one really skipped some of the moments in the relationship that I was interested in going along with for. Like I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to see how it went when Kristine visiting London went. I really loved the open communication between the couples. I did also enjoy Kate’s & Madison’s stories as well. I enjoyed the narration as well and appreciate the effort that she very clearly went through throughout the series. Especially in this last one, I was surprised that she actually started singing for the wedding part. I loved this series so much that I’m actually going to give it another go with book 1 and 2 before I see what Lise Gold book I want to go for next.

Great Story & Great Characters
Revisado: 09-19-21
I really enjoyed the 1st book and this one. The author does an amazing job of building the world they’re in. I found it very easy to imagine all the scenery. The story was great, the whole long distance issue was a bit unique or at least I haven’t found another book yet that used that as the love obstacle. And the characters! Oh my I am in love with both Hannah and Kristine so much! They are just adorable and I really enjoy that they were always really good at properly communicating with one another to clear up an misunderstandings.
