Historia
A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear. Sara's ex-husband, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation - a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later.

Most the time Kathy Reichs books can be very technical but this one was not bad at all. I would recommend it to others to read.

Historia
Melville Heights is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Bristol, England. It’s the sort of place where doctors and lawyers and old-money academics live. It’s not the sort of place where people get stabbed in the back 30 times with a kitchen knife in their own homes. Someone must have seen something. Newlywed Joey Mullen, for example, recently returned from four years of working in Ibiza. She and her husband, Alfie, are eager to find a place of their own in her hometown. But Joey finds herself distracted by the man next door, Tom Fitzwilliam.

Excellent audible book by Lisa Jewell!!!
Revisado: 06-24-19
Do not believe the negative reviews on this book, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it after letting it sit in my library. I am amazed at Ms. Jewell's writing talent and feel that she and Paula Daly are very similar in writing style. Both have only a handful of books but that must be because they take their skill very seriously and don't just throw books together in order to shovel out stories to make money. They are both very organized and their stories flow effortlessly and have kept me excited to discover them as its hard to find authors who are consistently good. Read this one. You won't be disappointed.

Another EXCELLENT audible book by Paula Daly!!!
Revisado: 06-24-19
This author is the most consistent writer I have read, EVER! Her books grab you at the start and don't let go until you've listened to the book in its entirety. I had read negative reviews and almost didn't get this one but the 4 books I had read previously by Daly had kept me mesmerized, so I ignored the negative and I am very happy I read this one. I keep thinking how much like author Lisa Jewell her books are but I believe Daly is a bit better. Could they be the same person? I wonder. Don't be afraid to read all of Paula Dalys books. They are all very good!! My favorite is What Kind of Mother Are You, then Open Your Eyes, Keep Your Friends Close, The Mistake I Made and this last one, The Trophy Child but they are all very enjoyable. Paula Daly please write more books!!!!

4th Book is another winner!!
Revisado: 06-18-19
I love this author soo much because she doesn't seem to just crank out nonsense to make money but persists on taking her time and writing EXCELLENT stories. What Kind of Mother Are You, Open Your Eyes, Keep Your Friends Close and this book, The Mistake I Made are surely best sellers. Paula Daly is so organized and detail oriented but not to the point of redundancy by any means. I read these 4 books in about a week. I'm starting the last one, I think, called The Trophy Child. I keep waiting for disappointment because so many authors I've got excited about in my recent past, end up writing a couple really good reads only to write crap novels afterwards. I wish Daly would write more books. She's my favorite author thus far comparing her to Lisa Gardner, who wrote Hide and Say Goodbye, EXCELLENT BOOKS, Karin Slaughter, who wrote Unseen, VERY GOOD ALSO, Lisa Jackson, Lisa Jewell, Kathy Reich, who wrote De Ja BONES, etc. Thomas Harris who wrote Silence of the Lambs is also good. I would recommend all 4 of Paula Dalys books outlined above and you won't be disappointed.

Historia
Jane Campbell avoids confrontation at all costs. Given the choice, she'll always let her husband, Leon, a best-selling thriller author, fight their battles. She'd prefer to focus on the good things in life: precious days with her two young children, a steady and loving marriage, their mischievously playful cat Bonita, and her fulfilling job as a creative-writing teacher. In Jane's eyes, life is altogether sweeter than any individual bump in the road. But when Leon suffers a brutal attack, Jane has to finally face reality.

OMG ANOTHER EXCELLENT READ!!!!!
Revisado: 06-12-19
Paula Daly is incomparable in her beautiful writing but she only has a handful of books!!! I am starting a third book but these first two books are the best books I've found out of like 40 books thus far. There's not a moment of dullness in her books What Kind of Mother Are You and this book, Open Your Eyes. I am ecstatic to have discovered her but disappointed she doesn't have more then a few books to read. She is a perfectionist no doubt as her writing seems extremely organized and the plot and story just roll so smoothly and effortlessly. The narrator was also excellent. Please crank out another great book. Now that I've had the best, everyone else will have a hard time impressing me. I've read some of the best authors like Lisa Gardner, love her books Hide and Say Goodbye. I also like Kathy Reich although I find her books quite too technical for my layman's mind. Another great author is Karin Slaughter, Unseen is very good.

Excellent read!!!!!
Revisado: 06-09-19
I thoroughly enjoyed this book in its entirety. It takes a really suspenseful fast paced book to keep me listening otherwise I'm quick to get bored and not finish. I recommend this book WHOLEHEARTEDLY! The author reminds me a bit of Lisa Jewell but I think she outshines Ms. Jewell with this book. I did enjoy Lisa Jewell's book, Then She Was Gone and this book was similar but I thought it was more of a thrill ride. I always read the negative reviews first because I do think some people are paid to give EXCELLENT reviews or they may be compensated in some way. This book has few negative reviews and that's why I chose to read it. I got it yesterday and finished it by mid day today. That's how good it was that it kept me listening through to the end, Read it! I bet you will like it also!

It gets old fast listening to the victim/vigilante describing over and over again how she is feeling and blah blah blah...borrrrr...iinnnnnnng. I'm only half way thru the book and just can't continue waiting for something exciting to happen. If you havent read HIDE, that's the book to read for nonstop thrills. I also liked Say Goodbye.

Best book ever!!!!
Revisado: 05-31-19
This book grabbed my attention from the get go and didn't let me sleep til I'd heard the whole thing. The premise of the book is superb. And I'm not receiving anything for my positive review. I am very hard to please and I'm super excited to find Lisa Gardner. She's the real deal. Even the very best authors have glaring inadequacies with redundant dialogue and making their books overly wordy but this author beats even the best. I have listened to Kathy Reich', Karin Slaughter, Ann Rule, Lisa Jewell, Lisa Jackson, Dean Koontz, Sandra Brown, etc. and while they are all good, thus far LISA GARDNER is by far my favorite. This was my second book by her. The first book that I read of hers was Say Goodbye, and while it was certainly good, this book, HIDE, is in my opinion the better of the two. The next book I plan to read by Lisa Gardner is Find Her. I have high hopes for it too. I gave this 5 stars because it was EXCELLENT in all aspects. The story will keep you on edge if you like mysteries.

Is Lisa Gardner able to keep my attention?
Revisado: 05-29-19
Say Goodbye is my first novel of Lisa Gardner. I believe this book should be read by young parents that believe all people are good. This is a story that made me sad at times as a grandma but I also wish young people would realize you do not know the people that try and charm you into trusting them with your babies. Many of these evil traffickers will barge right into your house and take that little boy or girl right from their own beds. Baby monitors are a must, it's time to be neurotic and hyper attentive to all those around you and your children no matter where you go. Don't trust anyone to watch them! Love them enough to be a neurotic parent. I also listened to a story by Ann Rule called Lying in Wait where a new mother in Houston, Texas met a woman that seemed very trustworthy and the woman ended up shooting that sweet mother and taking her new baby. BEWARE OF THE BOGEYMAN OR WOMAN, TEENS, BOYS AND GIRLS!
