Historia
Phex and his pantheon have become demigods and are taking their show on a galaxy-wide tour. Phex is shockingly good at singing but his voice is intoxicating and one wrong note can kill so everyone wants a piece of him - sometimes literally. But the aliens in charge of the divinity are hiding something even more sinister and it's hurting performers and audiences alike. When his lover is pitted against his pantheon, Phex will have to choose between the family he has found and the god he adores.

Cozy queers in space!
Revisado: 06-12-24
If you liked the Wayfarer series by Becky Chambers and Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree, imagine that, in space, with a heavy K-pop influence. Found family, food and the power of song. Highly recommend the entire trilogy!

A bookish fantasy!
Revisado: 02-29-24
A protagonist who is whisked off to a magic land in order to organize a fae library! Against her will, but that kind of comes with the territory. This was a part cozy, part adventurous fantasy with a diverse cast of characters that kept me invested from start to finish.

Black elves and Black fae and disability representation!
Revisado: 02-21-24
I love a dual narrative, especially in fantasy. Yeeran and Lettle are so different, yet their motivations are both so understandable. Thankfully, you can root for both of them. The romance aspect was a slowish burn, but satisfying. I want more!

Historia
Dimity Plumleigh-Teignmott, code name Honey Bee, is the War Office's best and most decorative fixer. She's sweet and chipper, but oddly stealthy, and surprisingly effective given the right incentives. Sir Crispin Bontwee was knighted for his military service, but instead of retiring, he secretly went to work for the War Office. Mostly he enjoys his job, except when he must safeguard the Honey Bee. Neither of them are vampire experts, but when Nottingham Hive goes badly Goth, only Dimity can stop their darkness from turning bloody. And only Crispin can stop Dimity from death by vampire.

Full of deadly delight, as expected
Revisado: 06-15-20
Delightful as always, excellent narration (weird pronunciation of Sidheag aside), made me laugh several times. Racy, but not enough that I was embarrassed to listen in mixed company!

Historia
In Manhattan, a young grad student gets off the train and realizes he doesn't remember who he is, where he's from, or even his own name. But he can sense the beating heart of the city, see its history, and feel its power. In the Bronx, a Lenape gallery director discovers strange graffiti scattered throughout the city, so beautiful and powerful it's as if the paint is literally calling to her. In Brooklyn, a politician and mother finds she can hear the songs of her city, pulsing to the beat of her Louboutin heels.

I wish there were more than 5 stars to give
Revisado: 05-17-20
Perfect narration. Robin Miles is amazingly talented, all her accent work is top notch, each voice distinct. The added sound effects made this unlike any book I've ever listened to.
Anyone who complains about "stereotypical" characters has missed the point of the book entirely.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

I had no idea
Revisado: 02-25-17
Trevor Noah's life before his appearance on The Daily Show was totally different from what you'd expect from a guy you see in a suit every evening. His relationship with his mother and his childhood make for a fascinating story and I think it's much more compelling as told by Trevor himself. Also I can't imagine trying to read all the foreign language bits phonetically. Overall extremely enjoyable and interesting.
