This was a gift to read and a joy to listen too. I've loved this story. I have listened to it many many times and always return to it, the narrative is the best I've ever heard. Kenneth the narrator so reminds me of Vincent Price whom I also loved. The story is great thru and thru. Free of boring drag ons.and simply clean of our worlds political agendas. Timeless.
Its funny silly and fairy tale like. Reminds me of my young years when getting lost in a silly day dream was my dream of the future. I hear something new each time I read. Family friendly and for adults and kids alike of any age. Please read to the kiddos in a family setting for much delight.

Fantastic and Recommended in the highest regard

This one is the number one story I've read in ages. Great story about a good old fashioned family of great wealth The back stories of each family member are in bits told. Alabama heat and an ancient sandman?? Sandman baby zombies ?? the ending is not expected but awesome. You will greatly enjoy it.

To my fellow constant reader this story is a wonderful read and listen for the kiddos too. I rated it already yet I feel I haven't done it justice Like and old Judy Blume read to us by our teachers in primary... I held onto every word. My kids did too
excellent way to spend the evening. Our modern tech kiddos will thank you for making them put that device down.

narration lacks....

Readers voice lacks in toggling back and forth to represent the different characters that are speaking making the comprehension of the already difficult story line inpossible to listen too with pleasure. Its been a chore and i sadly lost interest
i got lost and could make up the story It became a mess in my thoughts I had to re listen at least 25 times THis being the last. I cannot finish this version.
PLEASE REDO NARRATION.........I WASTED MY MONEY
The story itself is great Read it normally if you can.

Thanks to Mr.King my days are filled with audio books he has written and some he himself has read Mr Harrigans phone was incredible, a simple clean story at the beginning A story without modern garbage or political mess
and gently drifts into classic Stephen with shivers. My hair almost went white lol
We need more stories like this and I am sure the King will deliver.

Koontz inspires the child in us all

Many of us came from the same type home as children, and reading Dean's bio I felt akin as I too had a stepfather who made it his life goal to beat and belittle daily. Mother looked past it, that hurt the most The child I was jumped for joy. I had made dolls out of tissues in the 1970s hoping I could escape thru them and I did with imagination That realm we all escaped too together. This story begins with love and hope and wraps up with that love and peace. Wonderful adventure throughout ....
I'm ordering the hard cover to share with family this Christmas. Peace be with you all

narrators chapter count doesnt match apps chapter listing so when you need to relisten to a part it's hard to pinpoint locale
