Historia
A stunning rendering of present-day Palestine, Enter Ghost is a story of diaspora, displacement, and the connection to be found in family and shared resistance. Timely, thoughtful, and passionate, Isabella Hammad's highly anticipated second novel is an exquisite feat, an unforgettable story of artistry under occupation.

Well written, well read, a worthwhile journey to take. I look forward to finding more books by Hammad.

Historia
A young woman accompanies her mother on a holiday in Japan. The daughter has arranged their itinerary. They travel by train, visit galleries and churches chosen for their art and architecture, eat together in small cafés and restaurants and walk along the canals at night, on guard against the autumn rain and the prospect of snow. All the while, they talk, or seem to talk: about the weather, horoscopes, clothes and objects; about the mother’s family in Hong Kong and the daughter’s allegiances in Australia. But uncertainties abound.

Not the sort of thing I would normally read but I loved it. More of a painting than a novel, focusing on atmosphere and memory rather than plot.
