Historia
After Englishman John Blackthorne is lost at sea, he awakens in a place few Europeans know of and even fewer have seen—Nippon. Thrust into the closed society that is seventeenth-century Japan, a land where the line between life and death is razor-thin, Blackthorne must negotiate not only a foreign people, with unknown customs and language, but also his own definitions of morality, truth, and freedom. As internal political strife and a clash of cultures lead to seemingly inevitable conflict, Blackthorne’s loyalty and strength of character are tested by both passion and loss.

I got both copies as I watched the shows and am very impressed with how well it was adapted. I do like how Mr James C presented the little lifestyle intricacies that Blackthorn experienced. It is pretty long but its details do assist in storyline overall. Thank you if anyone read this .

Such a great story, worthy of a movie.

I enjoyed the timelines both storylines told. I enjoyed the how the story would teach little known tidbits of history. I loved where and how the book ended. Would love to see this as a movie or played on on television.

Vidal's consummate skill takes you into the minds and private rooms of these great men, illuminating their opinions of one another and their concerns about crafting a workable democracy.

I learned a lot about the three figures in the book. It was easy to follow from where he starts a little after the revolution in 1780s til their timely passing. The last hour really felt like a movie scene. I really enjoyed it and do plan on listening to listening to another work of Mr Vidal.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

It felt like a was listening to a movie at some points. I enjoyed how the book was converted into an audio story. It was a nice getaway from the usual narrator in a audio book. As a fan of the original book, I do feel like it does the source work justice.

Historia
A vicious 15-year-old droog is the central character of this 1963 classic, a frightening fable about good and evil, and the meaning of human freedom. In Anthony Burgess' nightmare vision of the future, where the criminals take over after dark, the story is told by the central character, Alex, who talks in a brutal invented slang that brilliantly renders his and his friends' social pathology.

Historia
Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the New York Times best-sellers Fight Club and Lullaby, is known for his edgy novels, and Rant is no exception. Palahniuk presents this fictional biography of Buster "Rant" Casey in a series of vignettes told by the people who knew him best. As intricate as a spider web, Rant succeeds in recounting the story of one man's life only through the eyes of others. But the question remains, "Who was Rant Casey?"

After finishing it the first I had to read it again and everything was there in the beginning.
Revisado: 03-31-24
Wow this book is amazing. I love how the builds builds the world around the main character and leaves the juiciest part as the twist that can’t be missed. I had to reread it and just the first couple chapters had more depth knowing how the ending went. The universe he created should be delved into futher. I seen rumors online that it was the first of a trilogy but their hasn’t been any news of that matter. But yeah you should check it out. Right up there or even ranked higher than fight club. (Which gets referenced in the book.)
