This book was originally published in 1997 during a time when Calvinistic Baptists were engaged in some fairly intense debates over the relationship between God's law and the gospel. Those debates continue, though--thankfully--in many respects, with greated clarity and charity than characterized some of those earlyier exchanges.

There’s much confusion in the church over the connection between Law & Gospel.
The Law and the Gospel, by Ernie Reisinger does an excellent job explaining the importance of this connection. I also ordered the paperback for further study. The narrator was okay, but added too much dramatic inflection and not always succinctly with the passage being read. Even so, I highly recommend taking the time to listen and study the beautiful, inseparable connection between Law & Gospel.

Even though I’m not a pastor I found many wise nuggets of biblical truth throughout The Resilient Pastor to apply to my own areas of ministry and Christian life. In my opinion, I think all Christians will benefit from Pastor Bruce’s wise, Scripturally sound counsel.
