Read aloud dictionary
Revisado: 05-26-19
It is simply a read-aloud dictionary. I am a bit surprised that it has that many perfect 5/5/5 star ratings, It fills it purpose, and I think it could be useful as a background listening material, but there are definitely more engaging ways to study the Chinese language.

Half a century after the Doomsday Battle, the uneasy balance of Dark Forest Deterrence keeps the Trisolaran invaders at bay. Earth enjoys unprecedented prosperity due to the infusion of Trisolaran knowledge. With human science advancing daily and the Trisolarans adopting Earth culture, it seems that the two civilizations will soon be able to coexist peacefully as equals, without the terrible threat of mutually assured annihilation. But the peace has also made humanity complacent.

I enjoyed it but found it a bit dragged towards the end. I miss the old narrator from the previous two books.

Historia
With his well-known idiosyncrasies and aphoristic style, Friedrich Nietzsche is always bracing and provocative, and temptingly easy to dip into. Michael Tanner's introduction to the philosopher's life and work examines the numerous ambiguities inherent in his writings and explodes many of the misconceptions that have grown in the hundred years since Nietzsche wrote "do not, above all, confound me with what I am not!"

Quite informative, but not concise
Revisado: 04-28-18
It felt quite wandering and unfocused at times. I got a better sense of Nietzsche, but it would have been more useful for me with a more 'overviewy' overview. There is also quite a bit if personal opinion by the author, which is clearly stated as opinion but leaves a sense of having received only one perspective.

Interesting, but a bit 'over-the-top'
Revisado: 01-16-17
I liked it - it gave some insight into scrum. But the zeal with which he attributed so many success-stories to scrum made me laugh a bit. It felt like he used 'flexible approach' as a synonym for scrum in particular. Otherwise, I found it likable and quite inspiring. Would recommend it if you like strategies for optimizing your life.

Historia
“Long live the King” hailed Entertainment Weekly upon publication of Stephen King’s On Writing. Part memoir, part master class by one of the bestselling authors of all time, this superb volume is a revealing and practical view of the writer’s craft, comprising the basic tools of the trade every writer must have. King’s advice is grounded in his vivid memories from childhood through his emergence as a writer, from his struggling early career to his widely reported, near-fatal accident in 1999—and how the inextricable link between writing and living spurred his recovery.

Historia
Why do people dodge responsibility when things fall apart? Why the parade of public figures unable to own up when they screw up? Why the endless marital quarrels over who is right? Why can we see hypocrisy in others but not in ourselves? Are we all liars? Or do we really believe the stories we tell? Backed by years of research and delivered in lively, energetic prose, Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me) offers a fascinating explanation of self-deception.
