Historia
Prizefighter tough. Street-hustler smart. Pit-bull vicious. Longshoremen’s union leader Charlie Vitteli is like a cold-blooded villain straight out of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Busting heads on the docks of New York as a brash union organizer, taking no prisoners as the newest president of the North American Brotherhood of Stevedores, Vitteli clawed his way to the top of the heap - and no one’s going to take him down now. Not if they value their lives.

A good Butch Karp read, not my favorite, but good!
Revisado: 07-19-17
What did you love best about Tragic?
This book did not have all the regular characters that are in most of the other books. At first that bothered me a little bit, but it is a very engaging and interesting book.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Because I enjoy courtroom drama, it was even more engaging!
What does Bob Walter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The only review I saw when I purchased the book was someone going on and on about how much she hated the change in readers. She didn't even listen to much of it because she couldn't adjust. This reader was different from the one that normally does the Butch Karp series, but it didn't take long to adapt and appreciate his rhythm, tone, and emphasis.
Any additional comments?
Always enjoy this series and this book did not disappoint!

Historia
After years of bullying and cajoling others as a high-flying public relations boss, Agatha Raisin’s early retirement to the picture-postcard village of Carsley in the Cotswolds is a dream come true. And how better to begin making herself a local leading light than by entering the village quiche-making competition? Unburdened by old-fashioned ideas of fair play, the ruthless Agatha decides to ensure she wins by buying her entry from a London delicatessen.

This character grows on you!
Revisado: 11-02-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Although I usually read mysteries that have more violence and crime, I found this book very refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
It took awhile to warm up to the character, Agatha Raisin. She is not an enduring protagonist but grows on you. The plot builds steadily throughout the book.
Which character – as performed by Penelope Keith – was your favorite?
Agatha is, at first, a totally unlikable character. The character development does not happen quickly, but slowly over the course of the book. At first I thought I wasn't going to be able to bond with her (Agatha). Before I realized it, I was liking her more and more. The author does a wonderful job of creating an unusual character that develops over the course of the book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I can't name a particular moment that the book grabbed me. I started thinking I would wait it out and keep with it and soon began turning it on to listen at every opportunity.
Any additional comments?
If you enjoy a good mystery with peculiar characters, you will love it like I do. I'm on my 3rd Agatha Raisin book now!
Each book gets better and better!

Historia
Months after a brutal double homicide in uptown Manhattan shocks the city, sensational newspaper headlines herald the arrest and indictment of Felix Acevedo, a shy Bronx teenager who confessed to the horrific crimes. But downtown, in the district attorney’s office, Butch Karp is seething. No sooner does he bask in the relief of successfully closing the case on murderous imam Sharif Jabbar than he is thrust into the center of a high-profile prosecution that threatens the integrity of his office.

As good as ever!
Revisado: 09-12-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Outrage to be better than the print version?
I only do audible books these days. I started this series over because there were many of the first ones that weren't available in audible when I started it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Butch Karp and the regular characters were as good as ever. It was shorter than most of his books, but I really enjoyed it anyway.
What three words best describe Mel Foster’s performance?
Not favorite reader.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I listened to it every chance I got!
Any additional comments?
I prefer RIchard Ferrone as a reader for this series.

Historia
With her frayed jeans and cascade of tousled dark hair, Lynn Shaw looks more like one of the teenage residents of Horizon House than their counselor. So it's no wonder State Senator Erik Gunther mistakes her for one. Not that he exactly fits the description of a politician, with his movie-star looks and athletic build. Even Lynn, cynical, stubborn, and decidedly not looking for a relationship, can't ignore her body's response to the man.

What a disappointment after reading some great tami Hoag mysteries. This one was like a True Romance story. Yuck.
