Well written and thought provoking. Power, morals, and time all play a part in what’s considered taboo or acceptable.

A true masterpiece.

The only issue with listening to Heinlein is there are so many quotable lines I’d love to highlight and remember.

Historia
Several months after his neighborhood was cloaked in darkness and invaded by the demon-like denizens of a hellish world, life has returned to normal for Miah Gray, a.k.a. Laser Chicken. No longer burdened by PTSD, he is free to enjoy his family and to help pick up the pieces of a pillaged world. At night, he trains with his eight-year-old companion, Bree, a.k.a. Demon Dog, and their neighbors Henry and Sarah, the god-like descendants of Helen of Sparta and the mythological Zeus. All is calm...until new neighbors move in across the street and shatter the peace.

Great mixing of past books
Revisado: 12-19-22
As with all mashups and crossovers, it’s a gamble on whether it will work. This one? JR nailed it. Character growth, team building, and roll definition were the keys to success on this book. Coupled with RC Bray it’s a slam dunk. Can’t wait for the next one.

A worthy sequel.
Revisado: 12-14-22
Explaining the situation regarding family dynamics, growth of relationships and characters, and all around story development is the basis of the book. Well rounded with very few parts that I would say could have had more detail.

Historia
A mammoth, flash frozen in solid ice 10,000 years ago is brought to the surface by a team of scientists. An act of sabotage frees the giant from its icy tomb and reveals the secret held inside: the body of an ancient woman, cloaked in furs, slides out of the mammoth's belly. But it is not the woman that holds the team's attention - it is the object she is clutching: a device created by an advanced civilization.

Couldn’t finish
Revisado: 02-03-22
Most of Jeremy’s books start a little slow. This one did as well but took the plot in a direction similar to a midday movie on network tv. The narrator was flat as well which made me turn it off after chapter 7. I have enjoyed every other book by this author and with the right narrator this one may have been better.

Not the best but not bad.
Revisado: 12-17-21
Not horrible. Not great. Not as well done as the rest of the series. Maybe I’m being overly critical. Maybe I had my expectations set too high. If you’ve listened to the rest of this series then finish it off.

Amazing story, not the best narrator

The storyline was great however at times the narrators voice made it hard to listen to because she had a whiny annoying voice.

Historia
Attorney Calvin Dexter hangs his shingle in a quiet New Jersey town, has a reasonably successful practice, and takes the hills strong while triathlon training. But Dexter is no ordinary lawyer. On Sundays, he reads the paper and shuffles around his dark, empty house, trying to forget about a life he has lost forever. Until, of course, Dexter reads something in the papers that sends him the necessary signal. Until one of the handful who know of Dexter's other life tries to contact him. For in a world that has forgotten right and wrong, few can settle a score like Cal Dexter can.

Hell of a plot.
Revisado: 11-30-16
Character development was excellent in my opinion. The plot was a roller coaster and it could easily be one of my favorite Foresyth books. Next to Dogs of War.
