A MUST READ FOR VOICE ACTORS!
Revisado: 05-16-23
Just like Dave's coaching sessions, this book is illuminating!
His simple, straightforward approach makes understanding the 'how and why' of voiceover incredibly easy.
This book genuinely feels like 20 coaching sessions concentrated down into a bite-sized format.
Using what I learned from coaching with Dave I booked a commercial ad campaign for a major bank brand.
The literal feedback they gave was, "We hired you because of your conversational tone." I had just finished coaching with him at that time. He's the real deal! Reading and applying his sage advice will undoubtedly help you gain confidence, level up your performance skills, get demo-ready and booking in no time!

Historia
If there’s one trait that makes someone well-suited to comedy, it’s being able to take a punch - metaphorically and, occasionally, physically. Told with a healthy dose of self-deprecation, A Very Punchable Face reveals the brilliant mind behind some of the dumbest sketches on television, and lays bare the heart and humor of a hardworking guy - with a face you can’t help but want to punch.

Bacon. McDonalds. Cinnabon. Hot Pockets. Kale. Stand-up comedian and author Jim Gaffigan has made his career rhapsodizing over the most treasured dishes of the American diet (“choking on bacon is like getting murdered by your lover”) and decrying the worst offenders (“kale is the early morning of foods”).

Historia
Rob Paulsen is one of Hollywood's busiest and most passionate performers. If you don't know him by name, you will know him by the many characters he has brought to life: Pinky from Pinky and the Brain and Yakko from Animaniacs, Raphael from the original animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many more. So, you can imagine how terrifying it must have been when Rob was diagnosed with throat cancer, putting his entire livelihood in jeopardy and threatening to rob the world of all his loveable characters that filled our youth and adulthood with humor and delight.

Incredible, Emotional & Legendary
Revisado: 10-11-19
Rob shares his story with such sincerety and effervescence. I grew up listening to Rob from TMNT up through Animaniacs. It is truly wonderful to hear what a charmed yet challenging life he has led. I can't recommend this book highly enough- it's rife with anicdotes from soaring highs to gut wrenching lows. It offers a narrative of hope and creativity, passion and playfulness.

Historia
In Dad is Fat, stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who’s best known for his legendary riffs on Hot Pockets, bacon, manatees, and McDonald's, expresses all the joys and horrors of life with five young children - everything from cousins ("celebrities for little kids") to toddlers’ communication skills ("they always sound like they have traveled by horseback for hours to deliver important news"), to the eating habits of four-year-olds ("there is no difference between a four-year-old eating a taco and throwing a taco on the floor").

Such a Great story teller! Funny and transparent
Revisado: 08-10-18
This book is so well written/performed I had a hard time pausing when it was time for work.
I found the stories so entertaining because they were just that, actual real life experiences. Not fairy tales but also surreal! Personally, I think the story where he stayed in a tent for 2 weeks sounded like the worst experience of all, even though admittedly the was a crazy series of scrapes, mishaps and hijinks.
