Historia
In the age of The Biggest Loser and the "war on obesity", we’re pressured to conform to certain body standards at any cost. Sure, everyone should eat right and get exercise, but what if you do that and you still don’t fit into the clothes at the mall? In Two Whole Cakes, Fatshionista extraordinaire Lesley Kinzel tells stories, gives advice, and challenges stereotypes about being and feeling fat. Kinzel says no to diet fads and pills, shows by example how to stop hating your body, celebrates self-acceptance at any size, and urges you to finally accept the truth: Your body is not a tragedy!

I gave this book a 5 star review with no question. I loved the experiences that were shared and could relate to so many of them. I've been the "big girl" all my life. This book made me question some things I do on a daily basis. Body acceptance is the hardest thing to get to but I am working on it every day.

Historia
From the star of TLC's My Big Fat Fabulous Life and the YouTube sensation "A Fat Girl Dancing" comes an empowering memoir about letting go of your limitations and living the life you deserve. Right now. Whitney Way Thore stands five feet two inches tall and weighs well over 300 pounds, and she is totally, completely, and truly...happy. But she wasn't always the vivacious, confident woman you see on TV. Growing up as a dancer, Whitney felt the pressure to be thin.

So many relatable experiences
Revisado: 07-18-16
I loved this audio book. It was very funny and honest and I couldn't wait to listen everyday on my way to work!. I had never really heard Whitney before, I knew she had a show and I followed her on instagram. After listening to this book I have a lot of respect and admiration for her for sharing some very painful experiences. I have struggled with my weight my entire life, lost 100lbs, gained it all back. It was nice to hear someone that understands what that is like. I went through many of the. same things. I especially appreciated the feminist chapter.! (power to the purse)Whitney, thank you for being the voice of so many women who are hurting everyday with their body image. I can't wait for your next book!

Historia
Fourteen-year-old Carey and six-year-old Jenessa have been living in the woods with their mother for as long as they can remember; the sheltering trees and a broken-down camper are all they know. But what they’ve never been told is that Carey vanished from the real world ten years ago, when their mother took her, causing an uproar in the media - and in her father’s life.

Great story!
Revisado: 03-23-16
If you could sum up If You Find Me in three words, what would they be?
Beautifully written novel
What did you like best about this story?
The story line was great. I could not stop listening and would sit in my car until the chapter was over long after I pulled in my driveway!
What about Tai Sammons’s performance did you like?
I liked the different tones she used when reading the different characters.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me smile at certain parts, especially when she described the bond between Nessa and Shorty. The difficult parts to listen to were the abuse they endured but the way that Carrie handled them was inspiring and done with such bravery.
