Seriously, how is it that all 5 members of a high profile family are killed in less than a year and only one journalist—one journalist of all the journalists and cops in the world—thinks it’s foul play?! This book was so dumb I lost brain cells listening to it.

Fascinating look inside Obama's life

This book is an engrossing and well-written account of Obama's start into politics and his first term in the white house. He is as fantastic a writer as he was public servant. I could not put this book down.

Aside from the fact that this book is outrageous and amusing, the real gem is the narration. Anton is a master narrator, enhancing the hilarity and making this book a must read (listen). I think even the stuffiest literary critic would be pleased by his performance of this work of art. Oh, the the story is great, too.

The story is interesting, and honestly a rather scary vision of the future in our genetically tampered world. But I should have read it instead. Jonathan Davis narrates this novel entirely too slowly. Via my audible iPhone app, I listened to the story at a 1.25x speed and it made the pace much more normalized...though it occasionally made him sound like a squirrel for a few seconds. I'm not sure why he felt it necessary to speak so slowly, but it really affected the action scenes and almost made listening to this book a boring task. So, my recommendation is to either read it or listen to it at an accelerated rate to preserve the story's dramatic pacing.

Disorderly and repetitive

I suspect this book was written for folks who are relatively unfamiliar with the history of Newton's discoveries and involvement with the English Royal Society. The story timeline was jumpy, moving from early years to late, then back to early and late, again. Had I not already known this tale, I would have been pretty confused about the sequence of events after listening to this account. Additionally, the narrative was excessively repetitive. There are numerous wonderful books explaining the history of Newtons discoveries, but this one is not among them. However, the narrator does a fantastic job, the content was just poor.

Awesome narration

Perhaps I'm already biased because Phil Gigante is one of my absolute favorite narrators, but I thought he did a brilliant job with this campy sci fi tale. The characters were clearly distinguisable and sounded exactly as I had imagined. The story, too, is an excellent cops-n-robbers tale turned on its head. Definitely a recommend listen.

One of my most favorite book series! Characters are well-rounded, the story is absolutely compelling and MacKayla is so charming you feel like she could be your best friend. A must-read.
