Historia
A young, disabled girl is lost on a winter's night in Leith, unable to help herself or find her way home. Someone is combing the streets, frantically searching for her. Within hours of her disappearance, a body is washed up on Beamer Rock, a tiny island in the Forth being used as part of the foundations for the new Queensferry Bridge. No sooner has DI Alice Rice managed to discover the identity of that body than another one is washed up on the edge of the estuary, in Belhaven Bay.

A little bit confusing storyline
Revisado: 03-31-23
There were so many characters. At the end there was a paragraph and I couldn’t remember who they were talking about. They never told us what happened to the daughter who lived.

A Favorite
Revisado: 09-04-19
This is a third reading over many years’ time. I actually thought I remembered who did it and I was wrong. I enjoyed all the backstories, the Scottish location and, really, everything about it.

Historia
The passionate and tragic story of Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff is one of the high points of 19th-century Romantic literature. In the relationship of Cathy and Heathcliff, and in the wild, bleak Yorkshire Moors of its setting, Wuthering Heights creates a world of its own, conceived with a disregard for convention and an instinct for poetry and the darkest depths of the human soul in torment.

Brilliant Writing, Depressing Reading
Revisado: 11-06-17
I'm almost glad I read it, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Watch the movie and try to forget how horrid the characters actually were in the book. : )

Treasure found in the attic
Revisado: 03-09-17
Long after D. E. Stevenson's death, this, along with some other writing, was found in an attic. What a treasure for those of us who have loved her books! I especially loved this reader. She was wonderful. I so enjoyed her slight accent, which was perfect for the book.
