So, you reading the review. Great!
No doubt this came up because of a combination your search history (not commenting on that), media intake, and purchase history, all culminating to leading you to this book, which you are trying to figure out if it’s worth the credit.

The description fits it well, pop culture references, humor, Litrpg, meta as all get out.

If you are not familiar with the narration of Johnathan McClain or Seth McDuffee’s writing style, then I’m almost envious about the decision and subsequent experience you are about to have.

They are both, and I cannot stress this enough, amazing. Diverse in character construction and representation, this is my favorite series to listen too since Noobtown, or He Who Fights with Monsters. I wasn’t absorb it all in one go, I’m going to be re-istening to this when I’m able to focus on it completely because the some of the dialogue and narration hits different parts of my appreciation in different ways, but so close together that I know I missed something.

This is worth the credit

If you are reading this, and are on the fence of whether or not is worth a credit, let me help you out, it absolutely is. Podehl is, as per usual, amazing at giving life to the characters and situations that Kong has created. This installment pulls no punches, it leaves the listener with an overwhelming sense of, “what next?!” Definitely worth the Value

OK, with the headline like that, and given the populace that would be attracted to this sort of genre, please understand that you got the EA situation wrong.

“The Land” is layered, intricate, chocked full of wonder series that I have willfully ignored over the past several months. I don’t spend my credits with reckless abandoned and I like my stories a bit longer to make the buy worthwhile.
That being said this Kong bastard is a genius at keeping an at pace story with relatable fantasy characters that always leave you with a sense of, “wait, that’s it?”

It’s beyond frustrating until you get your next fix. I waited about a month after digesting all 5 previous installments within a period of two weeks (job is often fairly mindless work) and I was checking his Facebook page like I was 6 years younger every 3 days waiting for raiders to come out.

This particular volume of “The Land” was a bit shorter than the last one (lost you a star Kong!) But cooperative action that takes place in this as well as other changes to the paradigm definitely made the wait worthwhile.

Basically, Kong and EA found a niche in the market. They both (seemingly) are able to easily churn out content that is fascinating and inclusive to the reader due to years of infrastructure from other media mediums (re: gaming and Star Wars, repectfully). The big difference between the two, is that stories similar to what Kong puts out, won’t go stale within 2 years.

Also Nick Podehl is literally the best narrator of audiobooks I’ve heard. Guy could kick a dog and I might ask for the full story before casting judgement.

Might.
