I started this book as a light candy book to cleanse my semi-depressed state of mind and found myself super pissed at the boss in the beginning of the book. How dare he do the things he did! It was a little too accurate a depiction of how predators make their victims feel and how they abuse their power. Then, later on I had a good cry and a few laughs.

THEN it finally got to the cliched candy part of the story I picked this up for. Yes, the 'twist/surprise' is what you'd expect from the title and genre. But this version of the story is told spectacularly. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting something a little familiar, but surprisingly deeper in emotional payoff.

A very well told and well voiced story!

A good mostly motivating story about running a marathon with good tips for novices and delightful humor. The self deprecating jokes started to get to me as the book when on, but otherwise I enjoyed the jokes.

This was a fascinating collection of short stories. My favorites were definitely "All You Zombies" and "And He Built A Crooked House." "They" was also excellent and reminded me of my love for Fahrenheit 451 in how it depicts Guy Montag slowly losing his mind as he realizes the truth. While the story tells you what the twist is, I was still surprised at the end of this one. I highly recommend everyone giving this anthology a listen or read. It makes me want to pick up a bunch of other Heinlein books and short stories that I haven't gotten to yet.

The narrator of the Audible edition is one of the finest I've encountered so far--I'm going to be looking for other books he's narrated just because of his talent.

This was pleasant to read. It's basically a collection of proverbs and anecdotes designed to help you think more about life and your relationships with others/ the world. Much of the advice and thoughts are things I've learned from studying the Bible, therapy sessions (cognitive behavioral therapy techniques), martial arts, random lessons/ morals from books, "folksy" wisdom, personal life lessons, and random other things. That being said, it was worth having them cobbled together in a single work.

I'm considering purchasing a physical copy in order to have it on hand for random page openings for when I'm feeling somber/ blue and want some general encouragement.
