This third installment in the Wambaugh "Hollywood" series does not disapoint.
Fast paced and entertaining, this book holds your interest from start to finish and is well worth a credit.

Good Not Great

As a Stephen King fan I enjoyed this book but I would not call it "classic King". The story moves along quickly never bogging down and always entertaining. I found the ending weak. The main problem is the narrator. Southern accents & what one reviewer aptly called a Rastafarian-French accent are just weird and out of place in a novel set in small town Maine. he should have listened to Delores Claiborne to understand what many of the reviewers are talking about. Overall a good solid read, good value for the credit, but not a great Stephen King novel.

A Fast Paced Pursuit of Excellence

Total
5 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 11-08-09

A really great book that confronts the reality of the terrorist threat and the myopic view of many left leaning liberals. The book is fiction but grounded strongly in todays realities and very accurately depicts the manner in which the muslim world views the west. The action and detail are superb. The ending was a bit weak when compared to the rest of the story but that is a minor point.Narrator was OK but needs to work on his cuban accent which is poorly done. Overall this book is well recommended.

Truly Awful

Total
1 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 10-31-09

Baldacci has always been one of my favorite crime/mystery writers. His past efforts have always been based on plausible circumstances as a base starting point.
It is hard to believe that this book is written by that same author.
Absolutely none of it is even remotely based on any reality.
The entire story including the characters actions are foolish, unbelievable and not grounded upon even a grain of plausibility.
A definite miss by a normally good writer.

Very Entertaining Historical Novel

If you like recent political history this is a very good effort by the author. Brings together a diverse cast of characters all centered around Richard Nixon and his far reaching influence that is still evident today

Boring & Disjointed

Total
1 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 07-17-09

I downloaded this book since I enjoyed the authors previous book,White Tiger. This book is nothing like the first one. Extremely boring vingettes that take place in an obscure Indian village. A real torture to finish it.

If All Audible Books...

If all audible books were as poorly written as this one I would be happy to have my ipod fried by an EMP. Simplistic writing, inconsistent, hackneyed, cliche ridden.

amateurish & awfull

The most dissapointing book I have ever listened to. Uses every hackneyed cliche and telegraphs every move in its poorly written sophmoric style.
A total waste of time.
