Historia
Returning from an extended leave, Detective Tracy Crosswhite finds herself reassigned to the Seattle PD’s cold case unit. As the protective mother of an infant daughter, Tracy is immediately drawn to her first file: the abduction of a five-year-old girl whose parents, embattled in a poisonous divorce, were once prime suspects. While reconstructing the days leading up to the girl’s disappearance, Tracy is brought into an active investigation with former partner Kinsington Rowe. A young woman has vanished on an isolated jogging trail in North Seattle.

More than one mystery to solve
Revisado: 04-19-25
Love the multiple storylines in the Tracy Crosswhite series, and this one was no exception. I also always enjoy the other cast of regular characters. Another great title from Dugoni!!!

Great depth of all the characters
Revisado: 03-25-25
I love a novel with believable characters, whether I like the characters or not. This novel had such great characters with so much depth. Also loved the first person writing of Cherry’s chapters contrasted with the alternating stories of the other characters in their chapters.

Brilliant - writing, storytelling, performance!
Revisado: 08-12-24
I’ve never read or listened to a story about the Vietnam War (partially or entirely), and to be honest at 50+ years old, I did not really understand the war. I’ve seen some of the movies (at a much younger age - perhaps too young) but still did not take much from them. This historical fiction was mind opening, and beautifully done, and is not just about the Vietnam War, but about coming of age in different generations. Sometimes I come across a novel that I think should be required reading in high school or college, and this would definitely be on my list (along with “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell”, also by Robert Dugoni; and “A Tree Grows In Brooklyn”) All that’s to say, I highly recommend this novel, you won’t be disappointed!

Very engaging and had me guessing until the end. The narration was perfect (although I do listen at an increased speed). My 2nd Agatha Christie novel and look forward to reading more.

Phenomenal storyline and a likable tragic main character enhanced the story. I do prefer male narrators to read the male parts, however.

Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

If you’ve ever wondered “what if”….
Revisado: 02-09-24
Or if you’ve thought you’ve had regrets..,This is the book for you….I love a book that makes me think, that makes me feel, that makes me feel like the author understands me, that I don’t want to end, but ends in the perfect way…this was that book for me - a book I know I will reread and I will recommend to anyone who will listen. This book had quotes I want to copy and post where I can see them daily, quotes I want to live by. I think it will be one of my top 5 of all time!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don’t even know what to say…
Revisado: 10-11-23
Still trying to digest what I just read..,To say I enjoyed it sounds disturbing. The storylines will make you think, question, wonder, cry, scream…at times I didn’t think I could listen, but I couldn’t NOT listen. Very original. I read this for a book club and can’t wait to hear what everyone else thought! Narrator was a little too monotone for my liking.

Historia
In 1954, 63-year-old Maine farmer Annie Wilkins embarked on an impossible journey. She had no money and no family, she had just lost her farm, and her doctor had given her only two years to live. But Annie wanted to see the Pacific Ocean before she died. She ignored her doctor’s advice to move into the county charity home. Instead, she bought a cast-off brown gelding named Tarzan, donned men’s dungarees, and headed south in mid-November, hoping to beat the snow.

Revisado: 08-31-23
This true story of Annie Wilkins was beautiful, inspiring, and educational. I loved the historical facts dispersed throughout the story. I found myself looking up places that Annie stopped and looking for pictures of Annie herself and her 3 companions. What a wild adventure “the last saddle tramp” went on!
