Interesting take on curses / shifting

I enjoyed this story, even though I was yelling "you jerk" at the Duke several times in the car. I'm always a sucker for a man redeemed by the love of a good woman. The language was sometimes too modern, but not enough to put me off.
The narrator was ok, but sometimes his accent sounded more Southern than English. I didn't like him pronouncing the "s" in viscount.
I got the audiobook for free with a request for a review.

Story was cute, but I was disappointed that a story with "Christmas Star" in the title never mentioned THE Christmas Star.
I found the narrator's female voices pretty bad, and there were a few mispronounciations.

I listen to audiobooks while driving to work, so I don't concentrate too hard on the story. I think this is why it took me a little while to realize there were two separate stories going on. Once I realized that, I was able to keep to the threads . I enjoyed this book , and was glad the author avoided some cliches. I got this free with a review requested, and an glad to recommend it.
The narrator took a little getting used to, but did an enthusiastic job.

A bit of a Beauty and Beast trope.
Captain "Fortunate" (now Major) doesn't feel too fortunate after being maimed in battle. However, after being reunited with a one-night stand, his physical scars become insignificant as she helps him heal his mental scars. I enjoyed it.

Exciting book - but no real ending

I enjoyed this book very much. The hero is heroic, the heroine is stubborn, the little girl and lion cub are adorable, and the villains are villainous. The tone was light-hearted in some parts and terrifying in others.
However, the book ended in the middle of the story. I enjoy reading series , but I felt this was not a complete story.

enjoyable short listen

Interesting "sort of" fairytale. Well known fairytale characters are side characters, which is fun.
I didn't care much for the narrator. I generally prefer male voices. There were a couple of production glitches (repeated phrase, pause, then "ok").
I look forward to seeing more of the characters in the next book.

I usually read/listen to full length novels. This was just a couple of hours, but sometimes you want to be able to finish a story in one trip. I enjoy the beauty & beast trope, but this seemed not too deep - probably a result if it being a novella.
I didn't care for the narrator. Her accent was flat, and she mispronounced some words.
Overall, okay but not great.
