Historia
Who is Audrey Hoedemaker? It's a question her sister Maureen has heard more times than she can count, and she doesn't know what the short answer would be. Little sister, troubled teen, backpacker, musical theatre coach, con artist, childcare worker. Murderer. A tragic, traumatic childhood casts a long shadow on the Hoedemaker sisters. Maureen has worked hard to move beyond the violence of the past and build a good, honest life for herself. Audrey, however, just can't seem to do the same, careening from one state of chaos to another.

Brilliant storyline, full of fantasy and suspense, interesting characters, steamy sex scenes. The narration is done by AI and not always on par.

Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Interesting play on the David Copperfield novel
Revisado: 04-08-24
I love how the story twists and turns and just when you think it’s the modern day story of Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield. The story takes off in its own direction. The ending was disappointing though, it felt like the author suddenly got bored of the project and just wanted to wrap it up.

I really want to love this book.
Revisado: 10-06-23
Perhaps it would have been a better experience if I read the book instead of listening to it on audible. It’s a really good story…. But it’s often to repetitive, I sometimes felt like I was sitting through a lecture as the author felt it necessary to explain mundane things like what a moist wipe is used for. This happens throughout the book, it gets irritating after a while. Get to the point alright. It’s also painfully cheesy at times and the narrators go back and forth between sounding like college lecturers and news reporters. It could have been an excellent book if tweaked a bit.

Historia
The king's magnificent palace was built in a matter of weeks. No one saw the builders, no villagers are allowed beyond the gilded gate, and only one servant has ever left. The haunted look in her eyes as she was recaptured by the palace guards is something Josie, daughter of the village doctor, has never forgotten. For Josie, the palace is a mystery that grows more intriguing after she meets the captain of the guards, a man known only as Hammer, as mysterious and captivating as the palace itself. Whispers of magic fuel Josie's desire to uncover the truth, but an ordinary girl like her can only dream of ever being invited inside.

Ends way to unexpected
Revisado: 02-15-20
I love the story, but it just ends very suddenly with lots of unanswered questions. Its almost like the author realized that by doing this you will be forced to purchase another book, just for the first one to make sense...
That’s how chapters work, not books. As far as I am concerned a books should have a beginning, middle and an and. If you want to right another one use the same characters, but finish the first story before moving on to the next ...

Historia
The occasion was a big birthday. And it inspired two close friends to get together in Dharamsala for a talk about something very important to them. The friends were His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The subject was joy. Both winners of the Nobel Prize, both great spiritual masters and moral leaders of our time, they are also known for being among the most infectiously happy people on the planet.

Joy and happiness ... the message gets lost in too many unnecessary detours and details
Revisado: 07-14-17
Narrating is a bit irritating, the book takes too many twist and turns, it's not staying on theme and it's easy to loose interest .... to bad, I had high expectations
