Both biased and impartial
Revisado: 03-18-25
Berger manages to widely paint the importance and amazement of SpaceX and Musk's success with his biased enthusiasm for spaceflight, but the same time adds brilliant details criticizing Musk and other players in the space industry, thereby reminding us that history and people have many more sides to them than we often make ourselves believe. People, just like rocket science, is complex, and you you can't judge or take informed decisions until you've fully immersed yourself in the subject and its history.

Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Humour, complexity and excitement
Revisado: 09-19-24
Good continuation of the previous book. Bery entertaining. A bit too many different stories at the same time though, would have preferred more depth on fewer stories. Feels like preparations for upcooming books.

Historia
When the neighbours in question are the proud empires of Klatch and Ankh-Morpork, those are going to be some pretty large garden tools indeed. Of course, no-one would dream of starting a war without a perfectly good reason...such as a 'strategic' piece of old rock in the middle of nowhere. It is after all every citizen's right to bear arms to defend their own. Even if it isn't technically their own. And even if they don't have much in the way of actual weaponry.

Historia
For Commander Vimes, Head of Ankh-Morpork City Watch, life consists of troubling times, linked together by...well, more troubling times. Right now, it's the latter. There's a werewolf with pre-lunar tension in the city and a dwarf with attitude and a golem who's begun to think for itself, but that's just ordinary trouble. The real problem is more puzzling - people are being murdered, but there's no trace of anything alive having been at the crime scene.

Historia
This is the worst thing you can wish on a citizen of Discworld. Especially for the magically challenged Rincewind, who has already had far too much excitement in his life. Unfortunately, the unlucky wizard always seems to end up in the middle of, well, absolutely everything. So when a request for a 'Great Wizzard' arrives from the faraway Counterweight Continent, it's obviously Rincewind who's sent. For one thing, he's the only one who spells wizard that way.

Really good reading
Revisado: 07-05-24
The book is funny and delightfully mesy with many different characters and lotsnof insight, as is usual in Pratchett's satire on society. The voices and storytelling are excellent.

One of my favorite Pratchett
Revisado: 05-23-24
Excellently read with a good pace and good voices. This book is exciting and entertaining, and at the same time deep and satirical. Says as much about the needs, thoughts and drives of individual people, as reflecting on society, belief and leadership.

Historia
Death has been fired by the Auditors of Reality for the heinous crime of developing…a personality. Sent to live like everyone else, Death takes a new name and begins working as a farmhand. He's got the scythe already, after all. And for humanity, Death is just…gone. Which leads to the kind of chaos you always get when an important public service is withdrawn. If Death doesn't come for you, then what are you supposed to do in the meantime? You can't have the undead wandering about like lost souls—there's no telling what might happen.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
Opposites attack! When the Magelord Minalan the Spellmonger’s two apprentices, Tyndal and Rondal, were knighted after the battle of Timberwatch, they were dubbed Knights Magi: A new class of nobility for distinguished High Magi. Designed to combine the pursuit of arcane knowledge with the noble aspirations of chivalry, it elevated them above common warmage...in theory. The problem was they had no idea how to be a Knight Mage...because no one had ever been one before.

Lost interest
Revisado: 09-11-21
It's a good story, with many interesting historical and political details intertwined with multiple thought-out characters. But somewhere during the third book it just kind of got boring.
A bit like the hobbit movie, good but just somehow too dragged out.
