Nice rendering of a short novel, which evolves into a hearty homage to father and son relationships. Unexpected turns of plot power a WWF inspired tale that’s believable and yet bizarre at times. The choice of first person puts it all in perspective for the listener and keeps it entertaining.

Scott Brick, whom I’ve interviewed, is the perfect choice for Narrator, which posits a Misery situation Stephen King (an audiobook lover) would love. You learn the intricacies of voice acting while being told a suspense story similar to the viewpoint of Richard Chizmar in Chasing the Boogeyman. Using abrupt scene changes in a way that is adept and convey tension, combined with excellent writing of dialogue makes it a must-listen. It’s a long book, but you never feel that it was too long, especially if you are interested in the subject. The ways in which narrators prepare for reads is worked into the thriller plot in such a way that you would listen, even if you weren’t interested. Bravo to Landon for his idea and choice! I wish I knew how much Scott and other narrators contributed to the project.

The was an Audible plan purchase, and not something Scott knows about. The references to being in a dark place running out of food resonated with me because of my first novel, and the killers name was Calvin Beach to boot! I look forward to the author’s new series, read by Scott, and his follow up. Interviews by others about this book and more are on YouTube.

You can't do much better listening to this very comprehensively researched mystery. Bravo to the wife of Andrew Grant, who is brother to Lee Child. Listen up.

The age old debate between carbs and meat consumption is given a rigorous examination in this long and sometimes repetitious audiobook. Recommended for anyone on a diet and worried about what to eat next!

Travis McGee is a classic mystery character with stunning accolades over the years since his death. Was hoping that someone would play the character in movies, but I don't think they ever did like Clive Cussler's two movies. I've been an audiobook reviewer for 25 years for various magazines, and this author (plus James Lee Burke) are my favorites. You can't go wrong..

Not sure how I found him, but if there is another publisher interested in him, look him up! Haven't heard from him in years. Also check out the other title he narrates. He should be narrating professionally! I've told publishers about Christopher. You should too. The inspiration for this novella was Ray Bradbury, who answered every letter I wrote him as a teen.

At first confused, thinking it was a memoir, then saw that it was humor. Much is based on real experience, and knowledge of the industry. So it's a blend, like a fruity Caribbean drink. Have been on many cruises, and written about them. So I appreciate the insider look. If you think of this as a bawdy Love Boat with added art knowledge you come close to appreciating the offbeat nature of it, ably narrated.

Burke is the best writer in America, just like they say. Why? No cliches. Makes his own. Interviewed him once. Told him he could teach others on the bestseller list how to write. As for Patton, this is a match made in heaven. He's been nailing it for years.

Science and the nature of reality gets a wide examination from the point of view of physicists from competing theories. Narration is good, and ideas are bizarre, but what can be proven always guides the discussion.

This always interesting book explores the edge of many science questions, proposing that those beliefs which scientists have long held need to be reexamined because science is always about progress little by little, and only rarely by discovery. Narration is always spot on.
