Decent but not amazing
Revisado: 04-21-25
"The Secrets of Tenley House" presents a classic setup: a mysterious old house, tangled family history, and dark secrets waiting to be unearthed. While it delivers a serviceable reading experience, it doesn't quite elevate itself to the level of a truly gripping thriller.
It’s an adequate read for fans of suspenseful mysteries. It provides a moderately entertaining escape, but it's not likely to linger in the reader's mind long after the final page is turned. It's a solid 3-star book: not bad, but not exceptional.

Decent Book
Revisado: 03-12-25
Not Another Bad Date" by Rachel Gibson had all the hallmarks of a classic romantic comedy, but ultimately, it landed in the "just okay" category for me. While there were moments of genuine humor and some charming characters, the overall experience felt a bit uneven.

Swoon Worthy
Revisado: 03-12-25
"Safe With Me" is an absolute gem, and it easily earns a full 5 stars from me. From the very first page, I was completely captivated by the powerful chemistry between Jonas and Samiyah (does help that Jakobi Deim and Wesleigh Siobhan were the narrators).
Jonas Rose is the epitome of a swoon-worthy hero. He's strong, protective, and genuinely caring. His emotional depth and vulnerability made him incredibly relatable. Samiyah Manhattan is a strong, independent woman who has been through her share of heartbreak. Her journey of healing and finding love again is both inspiring and heartwarming.
The connection between Jonas and Samiyah is electric. Their interactions are filled with passion, tenderness, and genuine emotion. The plot is well-paced, with a perfect balance of romance, drama, and emotional depth. The backstories of the characters are woven seamlessly into the narrative, adding depth and complexity to their relationships.
This book was a beautifully written romance that will leave you feeling warm and satisfied. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a heartfelt and passionate love story.

Historia
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

Great Start
Revisado: 02-20-25
"Powerless" is a captivating fantasy romance with political intrigue, featuring a resilient "ordinary" girl navigating a world of elites. The strong romantic tension and engaging protagonist are highlights, but the world-building feels underdeveloped, and some plot points are rushed. Despite these flaws, the book's compelling premise and cliffhanger ending make it a promising start to the series. If you like Hunger Games, then this book is a must read.

Speechless and Numb
Revisado: 02-19-25
"Onyx Storm" is absolutely incredible! Rebecca Yarros has truly outdone herself. I'm still reeling from the emotional impact of this book. The world of Navarre comes alive with breathtaking descriptions – I could practically feel the wind and hear the dragons. The political intrigue is fascinating, and the threats are terrifying. Violet's journey is inspiring; she's a force to be reckoned with. And romance? Pure fire! Violet and Xaden's connection is so deep and passionate The bond between rider and dragon is beautifully portrayed, and the aerial battles are breathtaking. "Onyx Storm" is a masterpiece, a book that will stay with me long after I finished reading it.

Historia
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.
