Historia
"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

very good but not sure about jk rowling references
Revisado: 02-14-23
This is a great book. However, if you are a person who is hurt by JK Rowling's more recent statements about trans women then you may want to cruise past the whole bit that's talking her up. I did get a lot out of this book but I think praise for Rowling is harming some people and should at least addressed before that section of the book. It's an elephant in the room as you listen. But generally, this book is wonderful.

Historia
Ross Maloy just wants to be a normal seventh grader. He doesn't want to lose his hair, or wear a weird hat, or deal with the disappearing friends who don't know what to say to "the cancer kid". But with his recent diagnosis of a rare eye cancer, blending in is off the table. Based on Rob Harrell's real life experience, this incredibly personal and poignant novel is an unforgettable, heartbreaking, hilarious, and uplifting story of survival and finding the music, magic, and laughter in life's weirdness.

Historia
There is no ancient evil to defeat, no orphan destined for greatness, just two guys in the wrong place at the wrong time. Royce Melborn, a skilled thief, and his mercenary partner, Hadrian Blackwater, make a profitable living carrying out dangerous assignments for conspiring nobles until they become the unwitting scapegoats in a plot to murder the king. Sentenced to death, they have only one way out...and so begins this tale of treachery and adventure, sword fighting and magic, myth and legend. Avempartha is the second of a six book series entitled the Riyria Revelations.

narrator is pretty annoying ..
Revisado: 08-17-22
I was nearly through with the regular audiobook when I saw this. I have a bunch of credits so I thought why not? the story is very interesting but I find the narrator unbearable. he has absolutely no nuance at all. I will avoid anything he narrates unless it's maybe a video game cause then who cares. The regular audiobook narrator is much much better.

the story felt incomplete
Revisado: 01-11-22
i enjoyed the story very much but felt it ended with very little to hold on to. Not sure if I'd recommend unless there's another book?

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

a bit predictable like a christmas carol but fun
Revisado: 12-24-21
Carey Mulligan really makes the magic for this. the story itself is a bit predictable and not really new or super deep but it is fun to listen to.
