Historia
Growing up Black in rural North Carolina, Ray McMillian’s life is already mapped out. But Ray has a gift and a dream—he’s determined to become a world-class professional violinist, and nothing will stand in his way. Not his mother, who wants him to stop making such a racket; not the fact that he can’t afford a violin suitable to his talents; not even the racism inherent in the world of classical music.

wonderful story on many levels!
Revisado: 12-11-23
This book is made up of many themes. First, it is a mystery about who stole a very valuable violin, but I think most importantly it is the story of Ray, a black man who overcame racism and a very difficult family situation to do what he loves. Loved it!! And I loved the Musical interludes in this audio version.

This is the story of the death of Hamnet (Hamlet), son of Agnes (Anne) and William Shakespeare. It is beautifully written. It took me awhile to get into it, but so glad I finished it. Now I am hoping to reread Hamlet.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.
