Historia
This is the story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world - and did. Is he a destroyer or a liberator? Why does he fight his hardest battle not against his enemies, but against the woman he loves? Tremendous in scope, breathtaking in its suspense, Atlas Shrugged is Ayn Rand's magnum opus and launched an ideology and a movement. With the publication of this work in 1957, Rand gained an instant following and became a phenomenon.

This is a wonderful book that everyone should read\listen to. The narrator in the reading is particularly good. He is a master reader in terms of delivery of the story and distinguishing between characters' voices.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

It was gone
Revisado: 02-18-18
The story was alright. His writing is fine, the specific science was cool. But he uses very basic writing formulas, which wasn't horrible.
The biggest issue was Rosario Dawson's accents were not great. I really like her acting, and her reading for the lead (thanks for that), but any character with an accent was hard to listen too. That was a bit tragic.

When the AIDS epidemic hit in the early 1980s, Strub was living in New York and soon found himself attending "more funerals than birthday parties". Scared and angry, he turned to radical activism to combat discrimination and demand research. Strub takes you through his own diagnosis and inside ACT UP, the organization that transformed a stigmatized cause into one of the defining political movements of our time.

Compelling, heart wrenching, inspiring.
Revisado: 12-31-17
This is a wonderfully written memoir. Full of insightful anecdotes, it offers a wonderful viewpoint of the LGBT and AIDS cultures of the latter part of the 20th century. The narration is great, and I felt entirely engaged the entire time. I absolutely recommend this book.

Historia
In 1518, in a small town in Alsace, Frau Troffea began dancing and didn't stop. She danced until she was carried away six days later, and soon 34 more villagers joined her. Then more. In a month more than 400 people had been stricken by the mysterious dancing plague. In late-19th-century England an eccentric gentleman founded the No Nose Club in his gracious townhome - a social club for those who had lost their noses, and other body parts, to the plague of syphilis for which there was then no cure.

Look who's on the Dick Gibson Radio Show: Arnold the Memory Expert ("I've memorized the entire West Coast shoreline - except for cloud cover and fog banks"). Bernie Perk, the burning pharmacist. Henry Harper, the nine-year old orphan millionaire, terrified of being adopted. The woman whose life revolves around pierced lobes. An evil hypnotist. Swindlers. Con-men. And Dick Gibson himself. Anticipating talk radio and its crazed hosts, Stanley Elkin creates a brilliant comic world held together by American manias and maniacs in all their forms.

Good narration.
Revisado: 11-18-17
While the narrator did what I found to be a great job, I wasn't so taken by the story. It certainly had some interesting moments, but I think it just wasn't for me. It felt like a series of odd episodes in this man's life in radio, but had no overarching story line. And mostly, I just didn't find myself really caring about any of the characters in it. That being said, someone else might love it.

Certainly a good story! I never wanted to stop listening, even through the creepiness. The narrator did a good job, as well. I highly recommend this audiobook.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Slow Burn
Revisado: 10-23-17
The narrator was rather dull, which did not help the book at all. The overall plot was good, but the story just dragged on and on. It wasn't until the book was 80 percent finished that the story finally picked up. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I do not see how this is many people's favorite Stephen King novel. Most of the characters were uninteresting, and I felt that the women in particular were poorly written. Like they were put in as window dressing. Overall, I'd say it was not worth the almost 50 hours of listening.
