Give me a story about a girl and her dog and I’m immediately hooked. In this installment of the Maizie Albright series, Maizie has to share the spotlight with her new partner in crime…detecting. He’s a partner that she doesn’t want, but she does need to help her through this newest adventure. It’s a tale (or tail) with twists and turns and keeps you guessing right up until the end! The supporting characters add humor and history to the story as Maizie continues to grow from a teenage tv star to a star detective. I’m looking forward to the next book. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Maizie.

Joan Dukore really brings the characters and story to life! She does a wonderful job of capturing the humor in her narration.

I received a free copy from the author, but my review is honest and voluntary.

The sweet and sassy Southern gal just can’t stay out of trouble. She really has the best intentions to keep her family name out of the spot light with her uncle up for re-election and her brother in legal trouble. But, oh Cherry! She just can’t help herself. She finds herself finally with a steady income teaching art classes to a quirky cast of seniors at a local upscale retirement community when she is asked to investigate a death by a prominent resident. Cherry quickly finds herself implicated in multiple murders and running from a drug ring involving some of her art students. Cherry is determined to solve the case while risking it all. And, if that isn’t enough, Cherry’s feeling betrayed by friends and having visions of her future…will it include grey-eyed babies? I can’t wait to find out!

Another cast of perfectly imperfect characters by Larissa Reinhart. Joan Dukore does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.

Cherry begins this adventure trying to indulge in some rest and relaxation as part of Max’s entourage to Big Rack Lodge for a hog hunting tournament. Max has a side bet with one of the contestants and Cherry has been asked to paint the portrait of the winner. Cherry is enjoying the scenery and working on a landscape when she discovers a body and the rest she deserves is history.

Cherry’s stubbornness and never quit attitude takes us on an adventure with twists and turns, a lot of soggy clothes and very little sleep. Thankfully, she has loyal Todd to help her navigate through the clues because she’s also feeling guilty about her secret relationship with Luke and is reluctant to ask for his help. Cherry puts herself in more danger this time, but picks up a second side-kick named Buckshot. Never underestimate a sassy southern girl with a loyal dog!

Once again, Joan Dukore is fantastic and brings the story to life. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

I love Cherry Tucker! She’s a strong-willed sassy Southern gal with a big heart. I also love a poison pen mystery.

Cherry is a struggling artist with a knack for solving mysteries. Cherry is hired to help design the sets for Romeo and Juliet for a local private school, but the Art Director wants her to find out who is behind the poison pen text messages and social media posts. Cherry takes us on an adventure full of twists and turns, quirky characters, and a little bit of danger.

I always save Larissa Reinhart’s books for when I need to laugh. Her characters are relatable and perfectly imperfect. I also always find Cherry’s never quit attitude inspiring. Once again, Joan Dukore captures the author’s humor and brings the story to life. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

I listened to the first two Cherry Tucker books several years ago and loved them. I have been waiting years for additional books to be released in audio, so I was so excited to listen to Hijack in Abstract!

Cherry is a sassy southern artist that finds herself in the middle of a hijacking ring after she is asked to draw a composite sketch of the suspect. When the crime escalates, Cherry’s stubbornness and heart of gold lead her on an adventure of chaos that includes a bar fight and a shoot out. Meanwhile, her nemesis is trying to ruin her career. Add in Luke, Todd, an over-crowded house, and a hilarious cast of quirky characters and you have a non-stop ride full twists and turns. I can’t wait to hear what happens next!

Joan Dukore captures the humor in the author’s writing and brings the story to life.

I loved this collection. I only wish it was longer!

A View to Chill - I’ve been a fan of Cherry Tucker for years, but haven’t finished the series as only the first two books are available in audio and I’m looking forward to the day when they will all be available. And, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of Maizie’s adventures, so when I realized Cherry and Maizie cross paths in A View To Chill, I jumped for joy! I loved that the story is told through alternating view points of Cherry and Maizie.

Maizie finds herself cold, tired and wet as she takes on a case to help a grandma find her granddaughter at Christmas. Cherry finds herself feverish with the flu at Christmas. An unexpected southern ice storm leaves Maizie stranded at Cherry’s door and chaos begins - crazy weather, crazy family, crazy neighbors, and bank robbers! Maizie and Cherry will stop at nothing to find the girl and protect their family.

17.5 Cartridges in a Pear Tree - It’s New Year’s Eve and all Maizie wants is a cozy evening with Nash in front of the fireplace. But, she finds herself targeted by a crazed fan looking to buy or steal an artifact from one of her movies in order to save the world. To add even more chaos to the situation, Maizie has been left in charge of watching Remi since her father and step-mother are out of town. The story is filled with humor, tension and holiday spirit as Maizie, Remi, the Jacks, and Nash battle the crazed fan in this adventure.

I’m looking forward to the next Maizie adventure and I hope we see Maizie and Cherry cross paths again in the future.

The adventure begins when Maizie decides to investigate a murder on her own. Maizie continues to grow as she tries on a variety of characters to help her investigate the case. While she makes some mistakes and has a few mishaps, she continues to learn and she finds herself shedding the characters and letting Maizie take the lead role. I really enjoy the growth of Maizie and her relationships throughout the series. The supporting cast of characters are hilarious and add depth to the plot and sub-plots.

Joan Dukore does an excellent job again and is a perfect Maizie.

18 1/2 Disguises was a fun installment in this series and I’m looking forward to the next one.

I’ve listened to the audible versions of Larissa Reinhart’s Cherry Tucker series and love them. So, I was excited to see this series on Audible. In this book, Maizie gets the opportunity to use what she’s learned from past mistakes when she’s hired to babysit a former colleague from her childhood movie star days. As Maizie attempts to keep her former colleague out of trouble, trouble finds Maizie and Maizie finds a body or two or three.
I love the quirky cast of characters and I’m impressed with character development of Maizie and all of the former roles she’s played that she uses as resources to help her navigate through the sticky situations she finds herself in.
I found myself sucked into the story and listened to most of it in one day. It kept my attention and I found myself laughing several times. I needed to know what happened next and downloaded the next title as soon as I finished.
Joan Dukore is a new narrator for me and I thought she did an excellent job.
