Historia
When Newton discovered the law of gravity, he unified the rules governing the heavens and the Earth. Since then, physicists have been placing new forces into ever-grander theories. But perhaps the ultimate challenge is achieving a monumental synthesis of the two remaining theories—relativity and the quantum theory. This would be the crowning achievement of science, a profound merging of all the forces of nature into one beautiful, magnificent equation to unlock the deepest mysteries in science: What happened before the Big Bang?

Great for anyone, but excellent for educators (and students) of STEM
Revisado: 05-23-21
Great mix of science, math, technology, and philosophy. Very applicable to the modern day and the technological advancements that are anticipated with the 4th industrial revolution. I teach high school AP chemistry and after the test we study quantum mechanics from two perspectives: science and also philosophy. If my school budget can afford it- I’d love to buy a classroom set of this book for students (or maybe the author might hook us up with this stellar review! Signed of course).

Fascinating book and audio additions bring it to life

This is a book for anyone interested in understanding how music is essential to the human condition and why it is such a powerful thing in our lives. The audio version incorporates sample music that demonstrate specific elements described and makes them come to life. Great book for novices and experts, or anyone with who has interests in music, cognition, learning/teaching, or research.

Good way to explain philosophy!
Revisado: 12-24-18
This audiobook/lecturer series does a good job of explaining philosophy as a subject and also the history associated with each part of it (such has difficult words like ontology, epistemology, metaphysics, etc), and how these topics relate to the general picture of philosophy as a discipline and also in ordinary life. One interesting feature is that the lecturer teaches the information with diverse applications, and demonstrates how philosophy can easily be related to all other subjects (I.e., science, math, arts, humanities, etc).
The lectures are well chronologically organized by both theme/topic, and also by philosophers. This lecture series would be great for people of a levels who want to learn more about philosophy (I am somewhere between beginning-moderate and I had helped me understand concepts I missed before and also learn about new ones). Good lecture series!

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Good ending, took a lot to get there.
Revisado: 11-28-16
I chose this book because it was recommended if you like the book The Girl on the Train. Although things came together in the end for this book, it didn't seem like much happened until the last couple of chapters. The beginning and middle of the book moved very slow and each new plot scenario was a reflection on the past and easily predictable.
