I think this series is just brilliant. Very smart. And Damien Lynch is the perfect reader. I wish it continued after this book. Kills me that it doesn’t

I very much enjoyed this different take on Sherlock Holmes. Not simply using Holmes’ character as we know him, but imbuing him with youth and inexperience. His older brother Mycroft as his keeper. Damian Lynch is one of my favorite readers, so i was thrilled to hear him here!

It’s a good book, good story but there’s little to nothing comedy about it. Narrator is good, but tends to be a little bit wooden at times. Maybe it’s just a quirk of his voice.

When can we do this again? I don’t usually like this enhanced performance format but for whatever reason, this one was effective and not distracting. Love it!

I really enjoyed this story! It was good enough that I was able to push through despite the fact that the narrator sounded WAY too dramatic and better suited to children's books. He alternated between a normal but overdone voice to sounding like Mr. Filch and then to Marvin the Martian and back again. There were a lot of funny lines in this book, but he basically threw them out with his delivery. I'm probably going to skip to book 4 read by Gideon Emery. He seems to stick, so I'm assuming he's better. NOT ready to give up this series. There's some good stuff there!

I thought I loved this series when I was reading the books, but when you put Nigel Planer into the mix...well...he makes it even better than it already was!
If you like British Comedy, you need to get familiar with the Discworld. It's "brilliant!"

I loved this book when I read it and I loved it more when I heard the audiobook. Susan Bennett does a fantastic job bringing ALL the characters to life, From the cleverly sarcastic Jody, to the brilliantly delusional Emperor of San Francisco. This is a quirky dark comedy like Christopher Moore is famous for. If I had to compare Mr. Moore with another author in order to give you a sense of the "flavor" of the piece, it would have to be Carl Hiaasen. Start with Bloodsucking Fiends, as "You Suck" is it's sequel.

MUCH more fun than reading Shakespeare

They weren't kidding when they described it as Shakespeare meets Monty Python. I think that was exactly what Mr. Moore was going for and he definitely nailed it. Crude, to be sure, but good fun and even, dare I say, sweet at times! Euan Morton did a fantastic job! I listened to it twice in a row and then went back over my favorite parts
