Book 2 really starts off this series. Book one is ok. And Nina does show up in the storyline, but just for a second. Read this book and then the rest! Amazing work by the author

Good second book
Revisado: 04-23-24
Easier to follow the characters as it’s the second book and we spend our time with the same group of ladies, and in the first book I kept getting a couple of the characters mixed up. I liked the story line and the set up for future story lines. Rarely does CF write a book I don’t enjoy. Good read.

Just ok story line
Revisado: 04-14-24
It’s not awful. I know some love this author and I keep giving these books a try and it’s always just kind of a take it or leave it experience. Nothing really sticks with me. The narrator really overdoes some lines and I kept thinking no one really talks this way! lol. But I like books for escapism so they don’t have to be Tolstoy or Dickens or the like. Just entertaining. It was entertaining but I could take it or leave it, like I said.

Not her best
Revisado: 03-29-24
Def not my fav NR novel. The MFC made me crazy. I know it’s an old book and that “times were different” but this girl gets chased thru the jungle and almost killed- sees someone else she likes die and in the next moment doesn’t want to put on a disguise bc it “isn’t fashionable”. Give me a break. Usually I really like NR. This one I’ll pass on reading again. Also it was kind of slow, the climax wasn’t as intense as usual, the characters weren’t as believable or engaging, the villain was laughable and for a long time nothing really happens except trekking through the wilderness. Could have been better. NR has done it better. I’ll still read her but this one is a big pass for me.

Loved the whole series!
Revisado: 09-13-23
Except for number 10 - it just wasn’t my thing but I guess it did add to what happens in book 11 with MM - I really did love the whole series and it will probably be one of the series I revisit often. Might move on to try some more books from JE. This was my first experience with her writing and I was happy for the escape! Narration was on point and different for each character-mostly- also great editing- no weird breathy sounds or crazy long pauses - just good entertaining fun. I’m happy.

Overall entertaining and really fun
Revisado: 06-25-23
Great narration of a full cast of characters with out any wavering on the part of the narrator. Story was fun and I was sad to see it end. It’s nothing mind blowing or earthshaking but it was Really enjoyable and I will re-listen to the entire series again at some point. I think that says something.

Way too slow...
Revisado: 05-17-21
the book moves along at a snails pace. I LOVE LOVE long books! It is absolutely NOT the length of the book that is the problem. Actually I spent a credit on it bc of the length. I love the extra time given to character development and detailed descriptions a longer book often gives, but this book does not do that! It’s like 15 hours of her first 3 days at a new job and the dreams she has at night. So many people love this series but I will not continue as there seems to be about 9 more books and they are all as long as this one for the most part. Secondly the narrator is just blah. Not horrible although she pronounces words strangely-kind of mixing the end syllables together and dropping off certain consonant sounds. It’s very bothersome. And the voice she has given to Dom sounds like harsh whispering. Her descriptions of the times they are intimate with one another literally made me laugh out loud. Which in a good paranormal romance should never be the place you find funny. Lol. I wish the books were read by a different narrator and were about 10 hours or so shorter. The book is interesting though when finally the story gets going so maybe someone else will find it enjoyable. Give it a try if you have 35 hours or so you’d like to spend on million word descriptions. I really wish I could give a better review. But alas... nope.
Oh- and one more thing- which is not the fault of the narrator bc we all have to swallow especially when reading aloud- but they didn’t edit out the sound of the narrator swallowing. At some point it’s all I could focus on. Very distracting when something is FINALLY happening in the story especially.

King is a hit or miss with me..
Revisado: 03-09-21
But this was a hit! Narration was excellent and the story hooked me from the get go. I’ll admit at first I was thrown off by the way it started but after just a few sentences I was hooked. Good classic King with a twist at the end I didn’t see coming. Although I’m no detective so to some of you it may have been more obvious. Worth a credit? Yes. I’d say so.
