If everyone is looking to secure a relationship with their perceived best option, then the perception of value must be at the heart of human coupling. In this groundbreaking work, psychologist Orion Taraban sets forth his economic model of relationships and exposes the often uncomfortable laws that govern the sexual marketplace. Very educational, fun & eye-opening!
Revisado: 10-20-24
Heard a fee of the podcasts episodes so I decided to give the audiobook a chance.
I was very impressed on the macro-dating level explained in the book.
Hard to follow in the beginning due to the language & academic-like analogies, but very educational & fun once you used to it.
Had to listen to chapters twice to really get the golden nuggets out of them.
Definitely recommend this audiobook!

Historia
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.
