Decent novel, don't expect too much
Revisado: 06-24-20
It's pretty easy going task to go through the whole novel. Easy to understand and not much of going on. Seems like a great setup for larger story with more details, or could be much shorter and accomplish the same effect. I'd love if there was more developed character of you know who, don't want to spoil, it was really just glanced over, I'd love to see much more on how Asimov imagined it exist, a missed opportunity.

Bored me to death
Revisado: 03-02-20
There's so much personal story around experiment with getting off caffeine that actual information got almost nonexistent. I couldn't listen through the whole book no matter how much I love finishing all books I start.
If you're in for information read another book, this won't do at all.

Not the first one to read
Revisado: 03-02-20
It would probably be better to first read books that have specific set of events. This one, though interesting and obligatory once you read other books, is not the best for start.
Performance is pretty good. In some cases hard to understand, namely when voicing the sylvan, that was a bit exaggerated and annoying.

Amazing book, listening again just after finished
Revisado: 04-19-18
Would you listen to The Inevitable again? Why?
Yes, and I actually do. Because I want to pick up all the details that I might have missed and also to get deeper insight into topic.
I think I have missed some details because first time I listened the beginning was kinda boring to me, only later I have engaged completely into listening, now re-listening the beginning is also interesting.
What did you like best about this story?
That it is true?
Have you listened to any of George Newbern’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't, but this one is great. It do sound a bit robotic but I guess that's a plus for this one ;)
Any additional comments?
Great insight into how our global society is developing and where we are going.

Bushido. This one word contains a wealth of meaning. Honor and grace, strength and compassion, loyalty and vengeance. Bushido is the warrior code of the samurai, a standard of conduct and an unwritten guide for right behavior and attitude. It is the core principle of ethics in Japan, an ideal that extends into every aspect of life and character.

Good book - unneeded lengthy foreword
Revisado: 04-19-18
What made the experience of listening to Bushido: The Soul of Japan the most enjoyable?
The actual book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but without foreword.
Any additional comments?
I don't know how I missed that good part (about an hour) of this audiobook is foreword where Bouseman tries to explain book before you read it, anyway it confused the hell out of me. When the actual book written by Nitobe started only at that point I actually figured that all until than was a overly lengthy foreword. Actual book is amazing and educational. If you want the real deal skip the foreword.

Historia
The Blind Watchmaker, knowledgably narrated by author Richard Dawkins, is as prescient and timely a book as ever. The watchmaker belongs to the 18th-century theologian William Paley, who argued that just as a watch is too complicated and functional to have sprung into existence by accident, so too must all living things, with their far greater complexity, be purposefully designed. Charles Darwin's brilliant discovery challenged the creationist arguments; but only Richard Dawkins could have written this elegant riposte.

Not a detailed look into how evolution works
Revisado: 03-23-18
Would you try another book from Richard Dawkins and/or Lalla Ward and Richard Dawkins ?
Probably no, I find his style to be too stretched out to really enjoy the read.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Remove much of historical information and focus more on explaining better how evolution works.
Any additional comments?
I came to this book with one question: how does the evolution really works? I had some knowledge about that but wanted to get an in depth look into all the fine details, which I really expected from this lengthy volume. Instead I got much of how evolution does not work, which I didn't really wanted to know about.
I've expected solid rounded look onto the matter but got tidbits and not very much aside from what you could have known before reading the book. Comparing this to a couple of YouTube videos I watched on the topic I'm sorry to say that I've learned more from half an hour spent on those than from almost 14hrs spent on this book.
I wouldn't rate it below 3 because it still gives great overview of history of argument about evolution, but I don't think that's what it sells itself for "Why the Evidence of Evolution Reveals a Universe Without Design" it's more "how some arguments about why evolution does not work like Darwin said went".
