Historia
In a world where runes hold unimaginable power, mere mortal and gifted artisan Nate must harness arcane magic to navigate treacherous paths, reveal the hidden truths of his own past, and discover the workings of the illusive ‘System’. No big deal. Emboldened by only his penknife and a weirdly profound understanding of runic sorcery, Nate must uncover if the path he has been thrust upon may spare his earthly existence. After all, why only leave your mark on one world… when you might leave it on two?

MC is strong but continues to face peril.giving great tension. Lots to explore in future books. my only criticism would be to use less of the word "instantly". I felt like it was happening ever few sentences. great narrators

A clan of healers?! Was that even a thing? People thought we were weak and incapable of defending ourselves and our property. Those who wished to do harm swooped down on the clan like vultures. And that was a good thing! More enemies meant more harvest, and more material for my experiments.

Historia
In his world, he was the last remaining alchemist, one of the few survivors living amidst the ruins of a once-great civilization. Refusing to give up on life, but seeing that nothing could save his home, he challenged himself to find a way out of such an inhospitable place. After years of dedicated research, he devised a ritual to transport himself to another world. But the outcome was far from anticipated. Instead of mere displacement, he underwent a rebirth. He ended up in a new body, in a new world, surrounded by new threats lurking around every corner.

Revisado: 02-21-25
Lately I have come to dislike the term Isekaid as the stories just feel like the same book thrown into an AI wood chipper. I almost didn't get this book because of it .
However, this was fun. The MC has to learn along the way and feels human. Secrets must be kept and characters have consequences on the line.

Historia
The end of the world is always a nightmare. But when it comes with the System, then it's not a nightmare for everyone. Not everybody is ready to fall into despair and come to terms with their fate as zombie food. Some people are ready to keep fighting however they can. Take Kasp as an example of one of those people. The end of the world was no nightmare for him. In fact, when the zombies and the System showed up, it brought new meaning to his life along with exciting new adventures!

Revisado: 02-20-25
Likes: what little that you see of the other characters is interesting, some of the world growth is also fun.
Other stuff: MC is still a man-child who dumps manure on others and expects them to thank him for the trouble.
Literally he has gear that alters the minds of others to not recognize him and is repeatedly up set no one recognizes him. Also mc repeatedly is annoyed that no one thanks the empty air after he pops into a room, dunks on someone, drops low tier gear at their feet, then dematerializes, while wearing said mind altering gear so no one remembers him. He's kind of an incel. I half expect him to start forcing people worshipping him and all the other bad things cult owners do to their subjects.

The System is here! Most of the population of the planet were suddenly turned into zombies, while the rest acquired new abilities. Abilities that let them run from the zombies, save themselves, hide, and try to survive. But it only takes one bite that almost always means death. Our hero was standing in line when the apocalypse came. He was lucky at first to be caught in a crowd when the zombies tried to bite him on the leg. Really lucky, because those trials unlocked new abilities for him.

It's okay. I hopes for book two.
Revisado: 02-18-25
4 Star for narrator.
Main character is certainly flawed. Whimsically empathetic when its not annoying to the MC, but still a Jerk at every turn. MC becomes inhuman and pretty much only sees humans as exp juice boxes or coin vending machines.
Maybe it is a translation issue but I have hopes that this British tosser becomes multi dimensional instead of a flat begrudging edge lord who is invincible.

Historia
When horror-obsessed Riley Lawrence and his group of college friends arrive in the small town of Carousel for their Centennial Celebration, the few decrepit cars parked in the street don’t scare them. But when they enter a locked building, an animatronic usher hands them each a ticket, and the lights dim, Riley realizes they’ve entered the inescapable patchwork of a horror movie set. And they’ve each been assigned an archetype—Scholar, Athlete, Eye Candy, Final Girl—to play out as the curtains rise.

Revisado: 01-31-25
I really enjoyed this story and the challenge that Carousel presents.
I did not enjoy repeated full description of each characters archetypes, roles, rules, and tropes. I feel like I am smart enough to remember the story I am actively reading.
I am looking forward to the next one.

A Beserke of Gluttony clone. Narrater is great.
Revisado: 01-09-25
It's an okay read. Enough is changed from the Anime/Graphic Novel BoG that it is entertaining but I cant help drawing parallels that sometimes feel like direct rips using a different word. (Parallels continue in book two but story has a good deviation).
Johnathan did a great job Narrating. I loved how he rapid fire went though the status sheet like an auctioneer. He is expressive and uses appropriate inflection and emotion to fit with the scene.

Historia
The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

Status messages too loud and still repetitive, but better than book 2
Revisado: 01-06-25
I really enjoy the story and the narrator is great, but the status messages murder your eardrums if wearing headphones because there is a lot of whispering you have to turn the volume for.
I wish all writers would truncate status messages in these types of books or make the review status it's own chapter so we can skip it, Unless plot relevant, and even then hearing the title of a skill or enemy 3-4 times in a row kills me. There was a moment that got my hopes up when the MC says "summarize battle report after" but my hopes were dashed when it repeated "enemy defeated" for what felt like several times.

I really like the story but the status messages are awful
Revisado: 01-03-25
The first book has too many status messages for me but it wasn't bad as it is a driver of the story, but this book I am struggling with the extra loud volume status messages that last more than 2 minutes, Felt like I was skipping over half the book by fast-forwarding through repeated messages. Summarize kills and exp, don't drag me though it every time.
