writer repeats ---- nearly everything a number of times to say ad nauseum is an understatement reader finds that the character is brilliant 5-6 time in first telling, that seems his manner of writing which stretches a short story into book length. To bad he had a kernel of an interesting plot

Weak coming of age -- ponderous amounts

After rather good use of the “jumping” phenonium in other books and coming of age features,…..here the 17 year old fights her way through serious space science while ducking and dodging “them”, going public (to parental chagrin), breaking up and making u and all the stuff a “normal teen” might

Writers confuse smoking and reeling off values of curse words with tougheness and nearly blank the story out, the characters are committed to urinating, a lot, with occasional defecation for variety --- the story line suffers ...

Barrett Whitener's narration is superb, in my estimation, his interpretation sets the book apart. The material, for me, is very interesting, one professional review attacked some of McPherson points these I am not grounded in this area enough to know or rely care, since overall the essays are powerful and provoking enough to sustain interest and to inform on some facets, as Jessie James, Lincoln's challenges and difficulties.
The work is a series of essays some written for other purposes and at other times with a few new and some others updated.

slow creeping lose of interwar

Really, how many time does the reader need to be told, retold and re-retold that Amos is a big man, a strikingly big man, seems it is very often, how he does not fit in a set of small cars, is really strong, and acts like someone with some part of the autism spectrum. These would be small distr4actions except that they are rattled out repeatedly the readers do a really nice job.
Oh well I finished it ---- finally.

British slant on the end which came with infertile

this end came with a sigh, not a bang. But the story revolves around a dog and it's master who against all odds chases the man who stole it through the curious circumstances and times and people to an interesting end ---- rather a pleasure to read
