Historia
This clearly written and engrossing book presents a global narrative of the origins of the modern world from 1400 to the present. Unlike most studies, which assume that the "rise of the West" is the story of the coming of the modern world, this history, drawing upon new scholarship on Asia, Africa, and the New World, constructs a story in which those parts of the world play major roles.

This is an interesting book. Recommended for history and sociology interests with environmental issues given consideration.

Reads too fast for beginners
Revisado: 06-10-17
What made the experience of listening to Spanish Short Stories for Beginners the most enjoyable?
The content is fine and the male's voice allows for discerning the words, which is important to an old guy like myself with poor hearing; however, he reads so fast it's like he's reading for an experienced Spanish reader, a very disappointing experience for myself. It could have been otherwise with just a little forethought on the producers part. Sad.

Any additional comments?
I wish a slower audio version was available. It could have been a winner. On reflection, I find it's way over priced because of the speed. Maybe this will change with practice.
