Historia
A family is gunned down in the snow, but one of the children survives. Three years on, that child takes revenge, and the Snow Killer is born. But then, nothing - no further crimes are committed, and the case goes cold. 50 years later, has the urge to kill been reawakened? As murder follows murder, the detective team tasked with solving the crimes struggle with the lack of leads. It’s a race against time and the weather - each time it snows, another person dies.

Narration

Thorpe's performance was terrific but, Thorpe is a man and the only narrator. I'm not going to say anything else. Wonderful plot twists most of which I figured out only just before the protagonist. Looking forward to enjoying more from Ross Greenwood

Historia
The day Adam Dunne's girlfriend, Sarah, fails to return from a Barcelona business trip, his perfect life begins to fall apart. Days later, the arrival of her passport and a note that reads "I'm sorry - S" sets off real alarm bells. He vows to do whatever it takes to find her. Adam is puzzled when he connects Sarah to a cruise ship called the Celebrate - and to a woman, Estelle, who disappeared from the same ship in eerily similar circumstances almost exactly a year before. To get answers, Adam must confront some difficult truths.

Unlikely
Revisado: 09-27-22
The story was about unlikely people doing unlikely things for unlikely reasons. The back stories seemed thin. We were inundated all throughout the story the 'what ifs ' only to have them rebuffed at every turn. What did actually turn out to be the accepted conclusion was baffling.

Historia
Lieutenant Joe Gunther is in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom investigating a minor embezzling case. It's a pleasant distraction and a chance to reconnect with old friends, but when a house fire reveals itself to be arson, compounded by murder, Gunther can't help but investigate. He quickly finds himself enmeshed in a web of animosity between put-upon townspeople, the state police, angry parents, and members of a reclusive sect.

This story seemed more fluid than the previous book I enjoyed. I never pictured myself as a policeman. Growing up I watched a lot of cop shows and read detective fiction. If there is a policeman I can identify with it is Joe Gunther.
Again, great narration! These guys are really good together. Looking forward to the next book.

Jolly good read
Revisado: 09-22-22
Grew up as a voracious reader in my teens. Read books in all sorts of genres. Agatha Christie and P D James werebblee a lot of fun. This is a great mix of Christie and Monk (defective detective). Todd is a very good writer.
Prebble was smooth and put a great deal of empathy in Rutledge's character.

Historia
Lt. Joe Gunther of the Brattleboro, Vermont, police force has a serious problem: in a community where a decade could pass without a single murder, the body count is suddenly mounting. Innocent citizens are being killed - and others set up - seemingly orchestrated by a mysterious ski-masked man. Signs suggest that a three-year-old murder trial might lie at the heart of things, but it's a case that many in the department would prefer remained closed. A man of quiet integrity, Lt. Gunther knows that he must pursue the case to its conclusion, wherever it leads.

Fun read!
Revisado: 09-20-22
I have always been a fan of police and forensic procedurals. Law & Order, CSI and some of their spinoffs were a must watch. I'm new to audible and am finding a lot of good reads. This series just moved up in my list of must read authors.
The narrator seemed a perfect match for Joe Gunther's character. More than just telling the story, it felt like he WAS Joe Gunther talking about the account personally.

The narrator struggled a bit with male character voices (Peregrine) but her empathy for the characters was very good indeed. She enjoyed the players in the story as much as I did and that was a plus overall.

Revisado: 09-12-22
In my teens I became a voracious reader. I read books of several genres sci-fi, westerns, espionage, biographies, and mystery. When I discovered Agatha Christie I was hooked for at least a dozen of her books. Sadly I lost interest in reading for several decades. I’ve been out of work with some physical issues and have gotten back into reading again.
Charles Todd rekindled my love for a good who-dunnit. I’m hooked! Great story and excellent narration.
