Historia
When Andrew stumbles upon Jamie’s house, he’s injured, starved, and has nothing left to lose. A deadly pathogen has killed off most of the world’s population, including everyone both boys have ever loved. And if this new world has taught them anything, it’s to be scared of what other desperate people will do . . . so why does it seem so easy for them to trust each other? After danger breaches their shelter, they flee south in search of civilization. But something isn’t adding up about Andrew’s story, and it could cost them everything.

Such a great story
Revisado: 11-28-24
“All That’s Left in the World” is a stunningly written post-apocalyptic story that combines survival, love, and the unshakable resilience of humanity. Andrew and Jamie’s journey is both heart-pounding and heartwarming, filled with moments of vulnerability that feel deeply authentic. The balance between the bleakness of their reality and the tender relationship that develops between them is masterfully done. This book is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest times, connection and hope can thrive.
I can’t help but wish stories like this had existed when I was in high school. Seeing LGBTQ+ representation in a gripping, emotional narrative like this would have been so meaningful to me then, as I imagine it will be for so many young readers today. Erik J. Brown has crafted a story that is not only entertaining but also impactful—a book that feels like a lifeline for those searching for themselves in fiction. A true five-star read!

Off the rails
Revisado: 07-11-23
This series started off strong but I could not get through this garbage. No plot lines are getting resolved, the author does a 360 with half the characters.

The problem is Jejeune doesn't really want to be a detective at all; he much prefers watching birds. Recently reassigned to the small Norfolk town of Saltmarsh, Jejeune's two worlds collide with the grisly murder of a prominent ecological activist.

Great, exciting story, and the narrator was fun to listen to. He did a great job giving the characters their own unique voices and quirks.

There is no turmoil or struggle what so ever. Things fall magically into place for all the characters and they don't seem upset at all that 7 billion people died.

Love the story
Revisado: 12-12-15
Would you try another book from Andy McDermott and/or Gildart Jackson?
Sometimes I feel like I'm listening to a movie script, but the plot lines are pretty good.
What other book might you compare The Secret of Excalibur to and why?
Not sure.
What three words best describe Gildart Jackson’s performance?
He does a really good job of separating the voices so you know who's talking. He just pronounces some words very weird. He adds er onto any word that ends in a, i.e. Nina becomes 'Neener'.
Was The Secret of Excalibur worth the listening time?
I think so, I wasn't able to predict everything that was going to happen.
Any additional comments?
No

If American archaeologist Nina Wilde can locate it, it will be the most important historical find ever unearthed. But as Nina and her ex-SAS bodyguard, Eddie Chase, begin their search, it's clear that others want to find the tomb---and the unimaginable riches within---and will do anything to get there first.

Not sure about this one
Revisado: 12-01-15
What did you love best about The Tomb of Hercules?
I like the continuity from the last story, how Nina has been set up to make more great archaeological finds.
Would you be willing to try another book from Andy McDermott? Why or why not?
I plan to listen to the rest of the series.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes, the narrator does a good job of keeping up with the action style writing.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Non stop suspense and action!
Any additional comments?
The only thing that drove me near insane was the narrator's weird pronunciation of some words. He adds "er" to words that don't end in "er". For instance he says the name Nina, "Neener".
