Historia
One of the 20th century's enduring works, One Hundred Years of Solitude is a widely beloved and acclaimed novel known throughout the world and the ultimate achievement in a Nobel Prize-winning career. The novel tells the story of the rise and fall of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendía family. Rich and brilliant, it is a chronicle of life, death, and the tragicomedy of humankind. In the beautiful, ridiculous, and tawdry story of the Buendía family, one sees all of humanity, just as in the history, myths, growth, and decay of Macondo, one sees all of Latin America.

The similarities of the names of the characters made it a bit hard to follow who was who. I can not imagine no one but John Lee for this narration.

Historia
Ex-private eye Tony Casella lives in the Catskills, a lonely old tough guy whose body can no longer do what it once did. His wife and son are dead; his daughter barely talks to him; his bank is in the process of foreclosing on his home. But a chance encounter with a rich young woman on a train changes everything. He is hired to take care of her superrich, sexual predator husband. That job leads to others and he joins a small start-up whose mission is to save women from abusive marriages—provided their spouses are in the top 0.01%. It's a luxury service destined to make great profits.

Fast and serious yet fun story

This is my kind of entertainment. The narrator is perfect for this. Too bad there are only a few of his audiobooks available.

Historia
Munich, 1949: Amid the chaos of defeat, it's a place of dirty deals, rampant greed, fleeing war criminals, and all the backstabbing intrigue that prospers in the aftermath of war. It is also a place where a private eye can find a lot of not-quite-reputable work: cleaning up the Nazi past of well-to-do locals, abetting fugitives in their flight abroad, sorting out rival claims to stolen goods.

Gunther comes alive by John Lee and the story can’t get any better. Love his humor and philosophy

The plot is too simple
Revisado: 09-30-23
Did the author wanted to throw a question on the meaning of a parent? Biological one or one who takes care of children? But both characters are shallow and not realistic.
