Historia
Unlike the wars in Vietnam and Iraq, the US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 had near-unanimous public support. At first, the goals were straightforward and clear: Defeat al-Qaeda and prevent a repeat of 9/11. Yet soon after the United States and its allies removed the Taliban from power, the mission veered off-course and US officials lost sight of their original objectives.

A Sad Tale
Revisado: 10-02-24
It’s hard to hear all the evidence of 20 years in Afghanistan, the lack of plans and goals, and lying to the American public. It angers me to think about how much was wasted in tax dollars and American lives in the lives of those who supported the work there.

I am blown away!
Revisado: 07-17-24
This was an amazing story, performance, and book! To then hear the story of Stefania and Helena and all the characters at the end of the book was over the top! I always love stories of bravery and real-life heroes, and this was absolutely that!! I had never heard of Stefania Pogorska or her story, but I am grateful to Ms. Cameron for answering the calling to tell it. Also, loved, loved the storyteller for being the narrator on this project - perfection! Brava to all involved!!

Historia
On January 28, 1742, a ramshackle vessel of patched-together wood and cloth washed up on the coast of Brazil. Inside were thirty emaciated men, barely alive, and they had an extraordinary tale to tell. They were survivors of His Majesty’s Ship the Wager, a British vessel that had left England in 1740 on a secret mission during an imperial war with Spain. While the Wager had been chasing a Spanish treasure-filled galleon known as “the prize of all the oceans,” it had wrecked on a desolate island off the coast of Patagonia.

Unique
Revisado: 04-13-24
This book was interesting, a tale of an historical event, told like a third party account and giving credit to the historical documents that supported it. But it read like a novel, dramatized well by the expressive reader.
I heard on a Saturday morning program it may be made into a movie. I’m glad I know the story!

This book grew out of a series of letters to my daughter concerning various things - mostly about money and investing - she was not yet quite ready to hear. Since money is the single most powerful tool we have for navigating this complex world we've created, understanding it is critical.

Historia
Twin brothers David and Jason Benham grew up with big dreams of baseball and an even bigger trust in God. Though they attended a small high school with no baseball field, turned down a professional offer so they could attend college together, and faced more than one missed pitch and injuries, they kept dreaming, praying together on the field, and believing in God. David and Jason’s journey, from Little League to college to professional baseball and beyond, reminds us that even when we don’t know what God is up to, He’s putting together the pieces of our life’s puzzle.

Historia
The average Christian in America does not know what his own religion teaches, nor does he care. He may call himself “Christian”, but he lives his life exactly as he wishes, making no attempt to conform his conduct to the commands and tenets of his religion. Daily Wire writer Matt Walsh confronts his fellow Christians in this bold, clear-eyed book that serves as an urgent reminder of Matthew 7:13 - "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it."

Private equity surrounds us. Firms like Blackstone, Carlyle, and KKR are among the largest employers in America and hold assets that rival those of small countries. Yet few understand what these firms are or how they work. In Plunder, Brendan Ballou explains how private equity has reshaped American business by raising prices, reducing quality, cutting jobs, and shifting resources from productive to unproductive parts of the economy.

Historia
In 1912, at the height of World War I, brilliant Shakespeare expert Elizebeth Smith went to work for an eccentric tycoon on his estate outside Chicago. The tycoon had close ties to the US government, and he soon asked Elizebeth to apply her language skills to an exciting new venture: code breaking. There she met the man who would become her husband, groundbreaking cryptologist William Friedman. Though she and Friedman are in many ways the Adam and Eve of the NSA, Elizebeth's story, incredibly, has never been told.

Incredible Tales
Revisado: 08-01-23
The unbelievable stories of man’s inhumanity to man were horrific and haunting. Equally as astounding, but inspiring, were the descriptions of the beautiful and amazing actions of these women (and also the men on their missions) who showed such bravery, ingenuity, commitment, and passion, to repeatedly put their lives on the line for their families, for strangers, the cause to free trapped souls and to stop or inhibit the evil deeds of a despicable plan. Bravo to the author for researching what was so much information on not just one, but many different people, through all the languages and types of writings she poured through over the years. It was her personal work of passion to name the women and tell their stories, so the truths would not be lost.
